Bosch Smart Home

Is it really necessary to limit this app to only specific markets? What’s the reason for that and who decided that? It makes it incredibly difficult for your customers if they want to install in another country. Unnecessary. The developer is Robert Bosch GmBH (Germany) so in theory, you should not allow anyone outside Germany to download the app, which would be crazy, right? Your support don’t understand this ocncept.

The app logs me off every few days or so since the last update. The playback is far from flawless, the whole app is slow and buggy.

Update 10.15 made my smart controller useless as I haven’t been able to connect to it since. Do you actually test your updates before release?

I have been very happy with the app and the different home tools Bosch offers for 3 years. However during or after the latest update the Home Controller has switch off so nothing works! I have not found the reason for it.

The app has all the functionalities needed, but design should be improved. It doesn’t look as sleek as it could plus some features are too hidden. For instance, it’s important to know the valve opening for the radiators but I have to go to settings to find it. Also, historical temperature change is important to trace how the system works and to have trust in it, but this data is not available in the app.

Love using this to control my heating system. Numerous updates.

Can view and get alerts for my smart home setup, including smoke alarms and air quality. Thoroughly recommended.

Generally a good app and system, but recently the smart home controller has become unreliable and refuses to connect despite having worked for some time without issue. I can’t tell if it’s caused by a recent app or firmware update as the troubleshooting and diagnostic information is poor. Even though I can see the controller MAC address and IP address the app refuses to recognise it. I have tried resetting, allowing time for firmware updates to take place etc., but nothing seems to work :(

Being away from home at these times and buying a new phone requires to run through the setup. Even the Mac address obtained via the router does not make it possible because it’s always asking for the WiFi to search. Well VPN is different from WiFi.

The app is still really slow to start compared to other app (Tado, Hue, logitech, ...). The connection time of the widget is much better now and I feel that’s the best way if you want to control quickly something. Please add more third party devices to the app: Logitech Harmony, Ring,...or a connection of the Bosch HW to other ecosystem. Because in this update you mention that the Twinguard could trigger the blinds to close etc, but I wonder how that is possible as Bosch is not selling any hardware and there is no communication possibility with other system?!? Last not but least, I was using Tado before and I miss functionalities like graph of the evolution of the temperature with heating phase, geophencing function to turn on the heater when you enter a special zone near the house, geophencing when you approach the house to turn off the alarm...the house should recognise that the owner comes home etc.
