Bradford White Connect™ Reviews

Good concept, bad follow through

The purpose of the app is great, when it works is great. Probably about once a month something glitches in the app and daily and weekly view no longer works and then it turns into an almost useless product. I want to monitor my heat pump to electric usage but this app makes things difficult. It shouldnt glitch out and say no data on usage checks.

Schedule Start is required

sunnysjourney on

United States

I just got this water heater installed today and I basically cannot save a schedule nor can I choose a pre-defined schedule from the TOU section. Choosing a schedule and tapping save says: Empty Field, please select schedule start time (even though I have entered it). Choosing a TOU rate basically says the same thing (“StartTimeEachDay” can’t be blank). My water heater is basically stuck in the hybrid mode even though I need it to be on heatpump right now.

Terrible product and terrible support

vronp on

United States

I regret buying this heater and the phone app is essentially useless. The heater drops out of heat pump mode randomly and of course the app doesn’t send you an alert when it does so. I bought this heater for the heat pump efficiency. At the very premium price on these units I would expect it to work properly.

The App Just Doesn’t Work

The settings often fail to commit The device goes off line randomly The vacation mode stopped working randomly, you can no longer use it. It is a shame they went with something so proprietary vs can or something open where there are solid controllers on the market. For the price this thing is a failure.

Great app

Very accessible. A lot more updated than before. Easy to use and very customer friendly.

Horrible company

IMsurfer on

I’ve had my Bradford White heat pump installed in October of LAST YEAR, yet - I still cannot get the required hardware to CONNECT to their Ethernet port to enable remote access via this app. Every single time I call their HQ they say the same thing: “We’re shipping NEW heat pumps with the hardware, but we have no hardware available to send you yet. Please check back in a few weeks.” Is there a CEO anywhere running this company? Is he or she aware of this pathetic response? Rheem and AO Smith have had integrated hardware for remote control for years, yet this ridiculously incompetent company in 2023 still hasn’t got their act together. I’m getting ready to throw this heat pump into the trash and purchase one that actually works - along with software integration that works. I’ll take the financial hit just to rid myself of this piece of junk. My advice? Avoid Bradford White altogether. Any claim of superiority compared to other reputable brands is absolute hogwash based on my experience.

Schedule feature really needs an update

Electrall1234 on

The app needs to fix its scheduling feature, the way it is currently programmed is pretty useless. It does not allow a schedule that runs during the night, ie. from 10pm to 7am. The app only allows scheduling during a 24 hour day, ie. from 10pm to 11:59pm or from 12am to 7am. You cannot create multiple schedules to run on the same day to get around this issue. So you are unable to schedule heating during low cost energy times or while sleeping if the sound is an issue. It would also be helpful to have a feature that shows you how much hot water is currently available. This feature would allow you to decide what type of setting to run based on your near-term hot water needs.
