BreathHoldWork is a precision practice instrument for structured breath-hold training.

Designed for serious practitioners — apnea athletes, freedivers, breathwork coaches, longevity-focused adults — who need a clean, configurable tool for daily practice. Not a course. Not a wellness app.

Why it exists
Stopwatches and generic timers don't support structured, progressive breath-hold practice. Random apps from the wellness aisle don't either. This app does one thing: time and track holds the way the work demands.

What it does
• Build custom hold-and-recover sequences across multiple rounds
• Configurable audio and visual cues at the moments that matter (halfway, every minute, last minute, first urge, first contraction)
• Live session metrics: hold time, recovery time, round count, totals
• Session history with full breakdown — every session, measured
• Foundation mode (free) and Advanced mode (per-round customization, awareness markers, sequence templates)

Like many truth seekers looking for genuine wellness practices, I spent years researching, studying, and training breath practices from around the world, knowing that breath is connected to a fundamental aspect of the human experience and wellbeing.
I practiced many yoga traditions to the trendy “Wim Hof Method”, which seemed novel at first, but left me feeling my practice was incomplete and looking further for pinnacles of advanced knowledge.
However, the BreathHoldWork system and App, developed by Erwan, stands alone as the clear outlier. It embodies the most sophisticated knowledge of breath systems one can find, whether for beginners or elite practitioners seeking functional, replicable, and measurable results.
The app’s approachability makes advanced practice accessible, reliable, and intuitive. Erwan’s teachings are worth their weight in gold and have changed my relationship to developing durable calmness, inner control, strength, and faith in ways nothing else has come close to. Followed Erwan since before his MovNat book. Very grateful for this app because it came at a perfect time when I was getting keyed into CO2 tolerance training. This is excellent because it’s streamlined with no fluff and no need to hunt for things.

The BHW app is a complete game changer. It’s everything you would expect from Erwan; the ability to create multiple finely tuned sequences, attention to detail within each step of your sequence, awareness indicators at every available moment, and reliable feedback/reflection tracking. I was excited to hear that this app was being developed yet I completely blown away by how genuinely good it is. I have used a few different apps over the course of practicing BHW and this one puts ALL of them to shame. I couldn’t be more pleased!
