I am using Brilliant for 16 days now, i am learning a lot about especially computer science. I have no problem to continue my daily streak, sometimes by only taking a quick review session. (I have busy days smt) The ranking League System implements (German: “pepp”) to your learning journey. 
Für Deutschsprachige auch kein Problem, es wird zwar nur Englisch unterstützt, aber wer es versteht hat dennoch Erfolg. Die Sprache dadurch zu lernen würde ich nicht empfehlen, höchsten kann man sie verbessern.

Ich bin nicht so begeistert. Mir ist einfach der Fortschritt viel zu langsam. Man hält sich ewig an Punkten auf, die man schon verstanden hat. Das ist ersten ziemlich langweilig und zweitens sehr ineffizient.

Früher war die App sehr übersichtlich und unaufgeregt. Es gab keine Bestenlisten, und man hatte das Gefühl, wirklich in seinem Kämmerlein zu sitzen und für sich alleine konzentriert Aufgaben zu lösen. Ich verstehe, dass Gamification einigen weiterhilft, aber es so penetrant zu gestalten. Ist wirklich super schade. Die besten Rangliste ist wie bei einem Micro Transactions Spiel mittig an steuerbar, so dass man zwangsläufig aus Versehen drauf kommt, es ist mittlerweile wissenschaftlich bewiesen, dass äußere Motivation, also Belohnung nicht halb so effizient ist wie innere Motivation, also verstehe ich nicht, warum man hier ständig penetrant mit äußeren Belohnungen genervt wird, wie die ewigen Steak Challenges oder der neue (lineare, lol) skilltree für die Kurse. Das führt eben nicht dazu, dass man mehr lernt, sondern einfach dazu, dass man für sich sinnlose Kurse macht, nur weil sich das Belohnungsgefühl gut anfühlt. Komplett unverständlich, warum man die Duolingostrategie wählt, bei der es klar ist, dass User time maximiert werden soll, statt wirklich Wissen vermittelt.

The app is ok. It’s a lot like a school textbook I wish it would have shorter lessons and more interactivity, audio, video, other quiz types, games. I often just zone out and want to get to the end of a lesson because it’s not motivating and inspiring. I do feel more inspired to he proactive and to find other resources on the topics to learn, so that is great!

### *---- "Toller Zeitvertreib…leider  zum Schlechten entwickelt"
Man lernt spielerisch was. Hab mir Premium gekauft weil ich so begeistert war. ABER: Das Streak-System nervt. Man sollte die Streaks ausschalten oder anpassen können...das demotiviert wenn man zB aus beruflichen Gründen nicht jeden Tag kann. Und ich fände mehr iOS-Integration schön: Widget, Siri, Health – fehlt alles. Und eigentlich lege ich da meistens keinen Wert drauf, aber das neue Logo ist nicht so elegant wie das alte und ich vergesse die App jetzt manchmal, obwohl ich sie auf dem Homescreen habe...

Update:
Leider merkt man, dass die App nur noch darauf aus ist die Leute möglichst lange zu binden. Die Eleganz von früher ist weg. Die Community abgeschafft und es gleicht in den Mechaniken wie jede andere Durchschnitts-App. 
Leider nur noch Investoren-Müll.

Why grind in a game, when there is no result in real life for you, when you can become smarter in Real life? Brilliant to me is the best alternative to gaming. It’s interactivity makes it feel like I’m competing with other to become smarter.

### *---- "Nice optics but too simple content"
Die kleinen Animationen sind schön anzusehen. Das große ABER ist der zu einfache Inhalt. Z.B. Mehr als 5 Schritte zur Interpretation eines Balkendiagramms oder eines ähnlichen Kreisdiagramms, um zu verstehen, welcher Balken höher ist oder welches „Stück vom Kuchen“ größer ist. Das liegt viel zu unter dem High-School-Niveau oder irgendeinem akademischen Interesse. 

Zusammenfassend: viel zu teuer für das, was es bietet. Die Rückerstattungspolitik ist gelinde gesagt schlecht bis nicht vorhanden. 

Man sollte also sehr genau abwägen, ob es dem bereits vorhandenen Wissensbasis entspricht. Sonst ist man schnell enttäuscht, so wie ich. 

Ein Abo ist aus meiner Sicht reine Geldverschwendung.

Das Abo hat sich ohne mein Wissen verlängert. Die Help Seite stimmt nicht und der Support antwortet nicht. Man bekommt nur eine automatische Antwort mit nutzlosen Tipps und 120 € sind weg.

Absolut indiskutable App.
Erst wird man mit aberhunderten Wiederholungen desselben schnarchlangweiligen und absolut simplen Inhaltes gelangweilt und eine Lektion weiter soll man plötzlich aus dem Stand heraus die Relativitätstheorie beweisen.

Aber sicher doch!

Das meiste des kargen Inhaltes wird auf Youtube und diversen Webseiten ohnehin viel besser erklärt.

Für den Preis ist das Gebotene ohnehin eine einzige Frechheit.
