BTR AMP: Offline Music Player

Forget all of those other apps that simply do the same thing as Apple Music with poor sound and little to no support for your music files. BTR Amp has a fantastic UI built specifically for your library and sounds great too!

BTR AMP IS THE ONLY APP THAT CAN GIVE FORMER PREVIOUS ITUNES MUSIC USERS BACK THE POWERS, ABILITIES AND OPTIONS TO CONTROL, ACCESS, AND LISTEN TO THEIR OWN MUSIC HOW THEY WANT TO! I have to add this review because this app is SO INCREDIBLE and More Music Lovers need to hear about it! So many former iTunes Music Users are unhappy and unable to control their own music the way they once could. Many of them own libraries full of purchases and their own CD/LP downloads, and do not want to have to pay Apple Music more money and have far less control over music that they already own. They may have no interest in learning a new way of listening to music, quite content the way it was. Whatever the issue, the changes to iTunes Music removed many features and controls that music owners once had. It changed the customizable options we once had, and worse, many people think their former library of music is lost to them. BTR AMP can really help you to get your own music back the way you want to enjoy it! I AM SO HAPPY I FOUND THIS APP!

This is an amazing app. There is nothing else like it on the App store. Sure, there are apps that present music from iTunes, from network sources, and from proprietary sources (e.g., Plex), but if you have a well curated music collection not stored in iTunes (Music app) and you want to bring your entire collection with you on the road, BTR Amp is fantastic. For JRiver users, use a "handheld folder" to export your library, then copy it into BTR Amp. Here's the killer feature: Smart Playlists! Yes, you can create smart playlists in BTR Amp! Of course you can create manual ones too, but this is the only app I've seen that reads the tags (including Rating tag) and lets the user create smart playlists. This is the App that has replaced Music (iTunes) for me on my iPhone and iPad. As I use the app more and more, I'm amazed by the level of items I can customize that I will actually use! 5 stars and the app is getting better monthly.

Updated from 3 stars after some help from support. This app is perfect for my use case. It supports FLAC and MP3 (and probably others, but that’s all I have in my library), the CarPlay and Siri integration both work, the app is highly customizable, and the support team is extremely responsive and helpful. Note that this app cannot be used without a $1/month or $10/year subscription fee, or a $30 one-off purchase, but it’s well worth the price of admission for a local music player with full integration with the rest of iOS. It took a bit for me to figure out some of the quirks of the app and how it handles the library, but a couple emails to support got me sorted out. There are some features like bulk editing coming down the development pipeline that will make things a lot nicer, but even as-is it’s excellent.

I converted all my old CDs to mp3 and have purchased some newer songs/music. This is the best players I’ve found. Ran into a CarPlay issue and they were very responsive and corrected the issue quickly. Fills a void for sure…

After 3 or 4 tracks of continuous play, it stops and does not go to the next track unless I manually press the next button, and again after 3 or 4 tracks, it does it again.

I have been using BTR AMP for about three weeks and I thoroughly love this app! It was extremely intuitive to set up and use. The features are also easy to understand. I have about 4900 songs from my personal library that were transferred to my phone via iTunes. BTR AMP immediately accessed the songs for use within the app. I was instantly impressed with the way it presented my music to me in a completely different (and better) way than I had experienced with Apple Music. For example, as I played my playlists, BTR AMP generated statistics about my listening habits and presented alternative playlists from the ones I had. In addition, I could edit the meta-data on the tracks to improve my library. Great job managing my music in a more enjoyable way than I had experienced before! I subscribed to the Infinity Membership as it is totally reasonable for a lifetime ride with BRT AMP's vision of how to enjoy your own musical experience.

Great app that does an excellent job of playing my music library and has a lot of useful features. The developer is helpful with questions. Highly recommend.

Up until now, I thought CarPlay prevented apps from properly displaying music libraries by artist>album>song. Thankfully, these guys have done it, and with an equalizer too. Add to that, the ability to download your music library directly through WiFi. Well done!
