Having used the app for some days now, I am still wondering what's the purpose for it and even more so why I had to pay for it. The articles and guides are the exactly the ones on the bullet journal. There's no new content nor anything novel in how they are presented. The only thing "new" that the app brings to the table is notification - something which is already native to any phone with a reminder feature. Sure, the notification comes with an inspiring quote but it's not at all an added value. I am not sure what I really expect from a bullet journal companion app. An electronic version would actually negate the existence of the physical notebook. That said, I am further not convinced that such a thing as this app should exist.
