Brilliant app!
So superior to many other calendar apps, and I’ve tested plenty of them. I use it for both personal and business with some rather complicated demands of the app and it’s always flawless. Support is always on hand and quick to respond.
Yes, BusyCal is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.

This product does not support colour-coded tasks. Their website has docs on how to use this feature, but you will be surprised to find this is macOS only. Feel a bit cheated tbh - that was the killer app I was after.
Good app, really enjoy BusyCal, though I hate that you have to keep buying it to get the updates on Mac. I think once you buy something it should be yours, including updates. Especially since I am a long time customer. There should be a lifetime option. I probably would have more than paid it by now with the updates I have paid for. The iPad and iphone version are good, just wish they gave larger font options, especially when the device is set for a larger font. So a suggestion is…. large or larger font options…. Please!! Also, for those of us down under, the dates sometime reset to the dates in America, we are a day ahead here and often I put the day I want in… and it automatically sets it for the day before! Super annoying!!
Have own server for info (Nextcloud). Issues with Apple caldav client syncing but Busycal has no problems. Having Tasks display in calendar also a big plus. Not 5 star because too expensive (at least not a subscription) and a bit slow on releasing updates eg no iOS 14 widget yet.
The new update will not let me hold down phone numbers in the note section to send a text… And now will not open up addresses in Google maps only Apple Maps… This is a huge convenience and probably will be looking for another Calendar app to pay for or that is free. I used to love this app before this update came into effect.
1/2/25 review update... v.6.0.0 has responsiveness issues and some serious stability bugs. I suggest NOT upgrading to this version until the bugs are fixed with a future smaller update. My info: iOS 18.2, iPhone 13 mini ───── The developers continually improve on their apps and the iOS version of BusyCal has improved dramatically over recent years. I also use the MacOS version of BusyCal and it is also rock solid. Both have synced my calendar entries perfectly for years. Both iOS and MacOS versions are MUCH better than the stock apps in that they offer more practical, useful, and smarter features. HIGHLY recommended.
Easily the best calendar app I’ve used for iOS and Mac. Being able to see all of the events on your calendar across an entire month - why this is isn’t an option on the default calendar app is beyond me. Best money I’ve spent on an iOS app, hands down.
农历是中国的传统历法。希望支持。
I have tried to connect with iCloud. Will not connect. I tried adding appointments/events and I get a message “No Calendars No calendar was found capable of storing new Tasks”. Unless someone can help me I will have to delete this app and deal with my credit card company for reimbursement
Extremely inconvenient calendar, disappointed. The interface is poorly organized, even the smallest text is half hidden - nothing is visible. The application is significantly inferior to competitors
