this application is not working properly, the ship's position is not real time, so you have to open and close the application so that the position is updated. the course indicator is always lost, the application is very bad. even I asked for a refund but it was not approved, even though the application is not working properly. !!

No data backup
Had over 3 years worth of dive and fish spots. C-MAP updated version and I lost all of those including the detailed notes. No way to recover. Can’t even get past the login screen anymore, just goes white and blank. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling over half a dozen times with no change in result. Back to navionics, at least my marks are retained in that app and it actually works.
Way Too Many Glitches
I had the cmap chip on a Raymarine on a boat; it was flawless for 7 years. Now back to boating, I downloaded the app on the iphone 15 pro max and on iPad pro; it's an absolute disaster!! Crashes, closes, the top back button doesn't work in various screens in settings. I have to close the app and reopen it to get to the main menu!! Extremely frustrating. Have to reenter my preferred settings just about each time I login/open the app. On my same apple ID, my only apple ID, shows my name and email ok on the iphone but on the Ipad shows a weired gmail email, not mine. They need to be in sync and I prefer having the app on both while underway as a backup. Sadly, I had to cancel the subscription and deleted the app. To the developers: please look into the issues. I'll retry next boating season.
Nearly good enough
Installed and set up the trial. I had this installed on 2 devices, my phone and an iPad with cell/gps. It worked ok on my phone but where I needed it to work on the iPad I couldn’t get the app to locate me. Also there’s quite a few annoying pop ups while you are trying to use the app. The charts are very good but navionics boating app somehow makes it easier to see with bolder lines and clearer text. The ais feature is nice but doesn’t seem to implement very well. I had ais targets all around me the other day but the app was showing me none of them and said the nearest ais target was 7nm away. In built weather app is not great and a distraction.
Sloooow download speed, not enough detail.
If you are using it in an area with high speed cell signal it might be fine. But if you need to download charts because you plan to be out of cell/WiFi coverage (like offshore Mexico) save your money or give yourself a few days to download charts. I am currently on day 2 of downloading less than a gigabyte of chart data on a high speed cable connection- apparently connected to a low speed C-Map server. I also run Navionics software and can easily download the entire pacific coast of Mexico and the US in minutes. Currently going on 36 hrs just to download Baja Mexico on CMap. Tolerating it now just to see how long it actually takes. My advice - go to Navionics.
Having finally downloaded the charts, it is clear that they are fine for commercial shipping from major port to major port, but useless for coastal cruising and anchoring anywhere in coastal Mexico and Central America. Don’t know about the rest of the world but popular anchorages and small yacht marinas don’t even exist on C-Map charts of these areas. Save your money and use Navionics charts if you plan to sail beyond major ports and harbors outside the US.
