Basic & Scientific Calculators
Type complete expressions with brackets, and basic and scientific operations, before hitting equals for the final answer. With history, you can keep track of previous calculations, and easily copy or switch back to previous results.

Unit Conversion
Unit conversions in the basic and scientific calculators help you quickly convert between hundreds of units including length, speed, temperature, weight and more. You can even get up-to-date conversions for currencies from around the world.

Maths Notes
Type maths or write it out using Apple Pencil on iPad, and Maths Notes will solve your expressions inline as soon as you add an equals sign. Maths Notes supports all the same functions as the basic and scientific calculators, unit conversions, and even maths written vertically.

Variables
Create variables by typing or writing their name, an equals sign and then their value. Name them with letters or words. Tap a variable’s value to easily adjust the value up or down. And use your variables in expressions, and even graphed equations across a Maths Note.

Graphing
Type or write an equation, and with a tap you can graph it in Maths Notes. Zoom, pan round or resize your graph to get it just right. You can even add multiple equations on the same graph to see how they’re related.

### *---- "iOS 18 Update Ruined This"
This used to be an excellent calculator. Even simple things like pressing the = button twice would negate the need to reenter the complete formula. Then someone at Apple had the not so clever idea of changing it and making it so bad I’ve started using the standard one on my other phone (Samsung) - which is actually MUCH better than the one in iOS 18. Not good, Apple.

This is a fantastic update to the calculator app apart from one thing. The calculations now don’t show you the amount devised/subtracted etc. 

Example if I do 83 - 35.6% it will just tell me the final amount of 53.452. I’d doesn’t tell me what the % amount was like it used to do. 

I have to do a second calculation to tell me what the % amount was.

Bring back the repeat = function. 

For example the of unwanted to divide a large number by 3, but then by 3 again and then a gain, I would just hit equals three times. Now I have to enter “/ 3 =“ each time. Revert back to how it was before this recent update !!

I understand you wanted to improve the app, but this is completely rubbish. Bring back a mode for classic calculator. Can’t swipe back to remove the digits and can’t clear without removing all numbers? Can’t do basic thing like add subtract a number and press again to do the same. How cloud you mess a the simplest application?

An overall decent Calc (this is short for Calculator for anyone new to the stream), however one issue I have noticed is that on the lock screen, it does not rotate to a horizontal display to allow access to the other operations on this page.

Lastly, Calc is short for Calculator if you’re new. 4/5.

### **--- "No graph option in math notes"
I spent half of an hour trying to make the feature of graphs in math notes work. It simply doesn’t appear. It should “just work”, without user having to search all the internet trying to figure out what’s wrong. I have a an iPhone 15 Pro Max and an iPad Pro with M1, both are “intelligent” enough for this feature. I tried something simple like X=y^2, both typed an written, tried to tap on the equal sign, looked at different menus - there is no graph option at all, and nothing like shown on numerous videos on the internet.
The instructions from Apple: “Type or write an equation with exactly two undefined variables, with one on each side of the equal sign.” The X=y^2 expression matches this instruction, why doesn’t it work?

The calculator worked perfectly since the new iOS it’s got rid of the % total when you put something in then do percentage it gives the full total not what the percentage is then the final total so the app will be deleted as a dyslexic it worked perfect now it’s harder for me to work out things thanks apple

Previously would automatically show result of the calculation without pressing = sign. New calculator doesn’t do that so when you press the = button it then gives you the incorrect result for your calculation. Can’t figure out how to get it to show the correct result so it’s basically useless to me now and have gone back to using a normal calculator

I can’t believe I’m writing a review for a Calculator. It fulfils its value but is pretty annoying to turn the phone and use that advanced tools. With the new iOS 18-18.1 update, it has been much easier to use. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

While some of the new features like the different modes are great, Apple need to understand that they have already dictated how we use the app by its old design. People have developed the muscle memory after all these years so to change all that because one or two users made some poor ux suggestions doesn’t mean Apple must conform to what these users want. Users 9/10 don’t know what they want. Especially with ux stuff, leave that to the professionals to dictate. Basically the new update is horrendous, so many additional steps have been added just to do basic calculations. Like the extra steps just to clear the screen or to find the total of something. We also dont need to see a history, that button at the top is awful and distracting. Find another way to add that if it’s a must for your users, maybe a small dot/circle or something. Secondly why am I now seeing all of the long calculations on my screen. Have you guys never used a Casio scientific calculator before?! If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!!
Next time you make such big changes give people choice. Implement free will in your designs Apple.
