## California WIC App Description
The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is a federally-funded health and nutrition program.

WIC provides families with:

- Information about nutrition and a healthy lifestyle to support you and your family

- Support and information about breastfeeding your baby

- Help in finding health care and other valuable community services

- Healthy foods from WIC approved grocery stores such as fruits and vegetables, whole grains, milk, eggs, bread, cereal, juice, peanut butter, soy milk, tofu and much more.

Participants must meet income guidelines and be:

- A pregnant woman

- A woman breastfeeding a baby under 1 year of age

- A woman who had a baby in the past 6 months

- Have an infant(s) up to their first birthday

- Have a child(ren) up to their fifth birthday

In California, 83 WIC agencies provide services locally to about 1.16 million participants each month at over 600 sites throughout the state. In accordance with Federal law and U.S. Department of Agriculture policy, WIC is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability.

The California WIC App will give WIC participants the opportunity to view upcoming appointments, view food benefits that have been issued to them in the clinic, scan UPCs while shopping at the store to see if the UPC is a WIC Approved item or not, and provide information on locations of WIC Stores and WIC Clinics across the State of California. The goal of the California WIC App is to give participants all the information they need at their fingertips to make their shopping experience fun and easy.

## California WIC App Reviews in United States

### *---- "Scanner doesn’t work"
What users most struggle with is some items aren’t wic approved even though the app says so, and holding up the line because of this frustrating and embarrassing. Being able to scan beforehand would prevent any checkout issues, so it would be nice for this feature to be fixed asap. It’s been many many months now, hire someone who knows how to fix these app issues.
-- rxn82, 2024-12-13

### *---- "Scanner Doesn’t Work"
Scanner doesn’t work at all. Keeps kicking me out
-- NadZaRu, 2024-11-20

### ***-- "Frustrating"
The wic food scanner has never worked for me and shuts the whole app down when I go back to the main menu. And it doesn’t seem to be accurate with my allowance.
-- AnnaLeigh87, 2024-09-02

### *---- "Wic app"
Very flawed can’t login or register
-- shariah56, 2024-07-25

### ***-- "App bugs"
The first time I went to use the app after setting it up it won’t connect to the server and I can’t use my app at all, I’ve tried many times, restarting everything and yes my data is working with everything else. Smh this would be useful if it would work!
-- sparklegirl_14, 2024-07-19

### **--- "Barcode scanner"
Barcode scanner in app is inaccurate. I scanned a gallon of milk in the app that said approved benefits and when I went to check out was not approved by my wic. inaccurate
-- Lesly Cristian’s, 2024-07-19

### *---- "Can not register because of birth format useless app"
Struggling with app registration, its really a headache and waste of time. Zero rating.
-- Kamal jam, 2024-05-17

### *---- "Cannot register on app"
Brings up dob format and it does not work
-- just what you need, 2024-04-07

### *---- "App not working. Keeps saying session expired"
The app won’t even let me get to the point of typing in my email or password. It says session expired and kicks me off. It doesn’t need an update. And I even tried deleting and redownloading. Horrible app.
-- ItsKelseyGraham, 2024-03-26

### *---- "Crashing, Crashing, Crashing"
I’ve been using this app since it’s been out, never had a problem until today, logged me out and when i attempted to log in, app crashed and took me back to my home screen, attempted again and says this super log thing about my account then proceeded to say “failed to get response from server.” Can’t log in to my account. 🤷🏻‍♀️
