Camino Ninja App FAQ
Is Camino Ninja App free?
Yes, Camino Ninja App is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Camino Ninja App legit?
🤔 The Camino Ninja App app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
This app, like Buen Camino, is just okay.
You can select where you are starting, and where you are going. It will show you what will be at each stop. But, not on the map. You have to jump back and forth to your route to see what’s available. Hostel in this village, great! Where is it? Ninja is silent as no location shows on the map.
Open map, you can see here you are. Great! Let’s zoom out so we can get a fuller view of where we’ve been and what’s coming.
No, says the ninja. you must always look at where you are as it forcefully zooms back in.
So for route planning, a “C”. As a great Camino App, “D”.
Amazing, but unsure if it will continue to be updated
Am a bit more than halfway through walking the Caminho Portugues da Costa and this has been basically the only app I have used to plan my journey, get ideas for hostels to stay at along the way, etc. Has been absolutely invaluable and provided all of the information I need, including a very exact map that provided a couple of alternative routings that take you through more shaded/scenic routes than the official Camino, which has been great especially with a few very hot days of walking so far. However, unsure if the app will continue to be updated as the developer, Andy Max Jensen, tragically passed away while walking the Camino about a month ago. Huge loss for the Camino community, and forever grateful to him for providing such a fantastic, free resource. May he rest.
Nothing for the Norte
This app supports many different Ways to reach Santiago de Compostella, but the Camino del Norte is not included.
Laura
I’ve been using this on the Portuguese coastal way.Works better than the other apps.Way better.Only annoying thing is when you try to see a hotel on the map it zooms out to map of Europe. You gotta zoom back in with every hotel you’re looking at.Would be nice to have all the hotels already on the main map, clickable with price/rating.Is working great without WiFi or signal. Thanks!
Simple and easy to use
It was the only app I used on the Camino. It was cool to see Andy out walking the Camino while programming the app. I’d recommend it!
Only app I used
This was a great resource for hiking from Sarria to Santiago on the French route. I did almost prep before coming and this app helped give me all the necessary info I needed to know. Really likes the elevation tool, it always let me know what to expect for the day. Also, appreciated the app letting me know where places to stop along the way.
Great app but keeps glitching
I used it at the start of my camino and all went well but now shen I try to open it just freezes. I keep uninstalling and reinstalling
Missing Camino Norte
Bizarre & incredibly unfortunate as they don’t have el Camino Norte!
