## Canary Description
Canary is home security made simple. The Canary app works with our security devices to connect your home to your phone, allowing you to view and protect those that matter most. 

Monitor your home: Watch live or recorded HD videos day or night. Access Canary’s timeline for a living history of your home. Save and bookmark your favorite clips.

Intelligent notifications: When Canary identifies something out of the ordinary, you’ll get a notification with recorded HD video of the event, as well as the option to watch live.

Automatic arming: Canary changes modes when you come and go. No complicated keypads or codes to remember.

When all members are away Canary monitors for activity and sends notifications

-	Home
When a member is home Canary is customizable. You can set notification and privacy preferences.

-	Night
Schedule Canary to monitor for activity while you sleep.

-	Privacy
Camera and microphone are completely off.


Emergency Options: Respond to incidents directly from the Canary app. Trigger the 90 decibel siren, or be connected directly to your home’s local emergency responders.

From time to time, the Canary auto-mode switching feature may briefly access your GPS in order to have high confidence in your location. Battery life is very important to us and we do many things to ensure we use it sparingly. Please be aware that continued use of GPS services running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Terrible customer service. I’ve had this camera for maybe 8 years and at first it was wonderful. No issues. Updated just fine. App worked. I noticed my cameras stuck in an update mode for several days and no resolution has been made. Sometimes they are able to do something on their side and correct whatever the issue is but not for long. They say turn it off and turn it on again like that changes anything. The app is broken and it’s a ridiculous amount of money I have spent on a camera system that’s maybe worked fully 2 months out of the year. And they have no explanation as to why it just disconnects and gets stuck in an update cycle that can’t bypass itself. I even purchased a new camera thinking maybe it’s just super old but no. The new camera started acting the exact same way once an update for it came out. Now both are useless. Mad cause I wasted so much time on this horrible device. I really did give it all my patience but I’m done. I purchased a different brand of camera today.

I’ve had canary for a few years.  If your equipment works fine it’s all good.  But if one device decides to stop working, well you’re screwed.  It’s impossible to delete an item of your device list.  App is very basic and not customer friendly. If you have to reach out to support via email they are about as useless as boobs on a fish.  I’m switching to a better security platform

We’ve had these cameras for a long time. When most of the features were free, this was an awesome camera system. Then they made you pay for a subscription and everything went downhill from there. The app doesn’t work most of the time. You have to pay for premium service for EACH camera to record anything on your timeline. I will nit renew for next year and will stick with other cameras that do not charge for each camera service. There’s just way too much competition out there for this kind of low level service.

I’ve had Canary for years now and I literally can never get through to anyone for assistance. The app is full of bugs and I’m so frustrated I yelled directly into the camera. I can’t take it.

iPhone 13 Pro Max
iOS: 18.4.1 (latest)

App will not open after account creation or verifying login credentials. Probably something to do with the login state with the code. Tried rebooting iPhone several times as well as reinstalling several times. 
Serial number of Canary Camera is not applicable because the app will not open to even try to connect with the camera. It’s the app, not camera.

Update:

For all new users. Create the account on the web, and create a “home” on the web. Then you can use the app once you get to the “download the app” and sync camera page. 

Code is broken on the create home part of app.

So i was gifted a camera from my mother in law that she used to use, got it home, downloaded the latest version of the app, and i tell you, i didnt even get through the account creation process before the app was inoperable. It instantly crashes as soon as i try and launch the app and log in. This app needs serious work! I couldnt imagine actually paying for this service just to have it do absolutely nothing.

Right when you think a security app can’t get any worse, Canary proves it year after year that it certainly can. Now, your home security is basically useless unless you pay the premium. Because good luck if you purchased a handful of cameras (like me) and want to urgently check in because while your family is getting raped and pillaged, you’re gonna have to sit through an ad that lasts about a minute. Maybe I should get another home security system that protects my Canary home security system. And they’ve been crying about sustainability since day one. Next they’re gonna want us to sell our bodies on the street so they can operate their defunct company. What a joke. Jokes on all us idiots that bought their cameras however.

You used to be able to click on timeline and see a snapshot of all the recordings from all your different cameras and you could choose which recording you wanted to see filters are nice but please bring back that view.
