Fantastic tool for type 1 diabetics
Easy to use
Pity there isn’t enough Irish foods on there but easy to use
Very useful but lacks some food products I use regularly
Very useful app, I’d love to give it a 5 but the downfall for me is the food library lacks food I buy in my local supermarkets (Ireland) for example Aldi, Lidl and some tesco own brand products are not yet available. Otherwise very happy with the app.
Carbs and Cals
Carbs &Cals has been a game changer for with my Type 1 Diabetes This app has made it much easier to calculate more accurately the amount of Insulin I require resulting in improved health overall
Fantastic idea for an app
Fantastic idea for an app but unfortunately not a lot of foods or restaurants are on the app, I cancelled my subscription as I am living here in Ireland and could not find the foods that I tried to scan even though they are well known brands; which I found to be very disappointing, hopefully, the app will update with more being added shortly and I will happily pay
Update
Latest update makes this app unusable.
So so
It’s handy for looking up generic weights for say potato or pasta but it has very limited treats on it which isn’t really good enough given it’s a paid service. My fitness pal is free and has heaps more on it.
Don’t get why I need a subscription?
The app was €5 to download but now I need a €40 a year subscription to see the carbs of some common foods? I don’t understand the point I’d get it if it was a free app.
Carbs and calls
This update to the new version it’s just horrible, for example 100 grams of tomato has no carbohydrates in this new version so it’s a lot of issues for me who I’m taking one unit of insulin for every 3 grams of carbs, so the previous version was more than perfect for me especially in counting the carbs to the last bit and beside that I already bought it when I start using it three years ago and now I had to subscribe again , so I won’t recommend anyone to use this carb and calls in the new version. Hopefully I will be able to downgrade to the previous version.
