Using the Carly app for over six years now on a BMW.
I am very happy with the diagnostic information provided.
It also allows customisation of certain features.
Had a problem with the obd scanner last week. Contacted sport and got an immediate response. Problem diagnosis  very pleased.identified the scanner device. A new one is on the way foc, no quibble replacement….after 6 years!

Do not buy the bundle of app and free scanner. It prevents you from returning the device should it not work for your vehicle. 

Despite a lengthy email correspondence with support the scanner and pro pack was unable to read or set basic functions such as the tyre pressure sensors on my Lexus GS450H. The scanner gives them a clear report despite the dashboard lights being on. 

Coding is not possible with this car model, the device is unable to read/set anything and the troubleshooting comes up blank. 

Nor is it correctly reading the mileage tampering. It is coming up incorrectly as tampered with. The car has dealer papers fully supporting the mileage from new, same main dealer service always. 

It does successfully read a number of the cars sensors but not the ones showing as faulty for me.

This is a great product.  I have only used it a couple of times though. A mechanic would love it and the subscription cost would not be a problem.  It might be an idea to have a Lite version at a reduced subscription or one-off low payment which would encourage more drivers to use it too

You buy the product with all features and vehicles unlocked for the top price, it throws up generic codes for almost anything even if your car is perfect and then try’s to upsell more features for each fault code, I wouldn’t bother been honest, I got sucked in thinking it would be great to code my BMW, it’s a waste of money and time, buy a good OBD reader don’t waste your money on this,

there is nothing wrong with the app, it’s your order of business, show codes and try get people to buy your mechanic information, it’s scare tactics to get people to panic into making a further purchase, aggressive up selling your product while failing to provide the basic service you’ve promised

The alternative app is better. It allows you to do more, is more stable, crashes less, has less cases of bricking control units and head units and has a better tech support team. I know this because, this is my Carly experience;

1. I bought the recommended Carly adapter(yes, it only works with selected adapters)

2. I then bought the app: it was a single purchase at the time.

3. I used the app for a few months.

4. I changed to iPhone.

5. I contacted Carly, my subscription couldn’t be moved over, so I bought a subscription. (You can only buy a year at a time)

6. Carly wouldn’t connect to my car.

7. I contacted Carly support to be told that their own official adapter, which I have, yes it’s the gen2 version, won’t connect to Bmw on iOS.

8. I requested a refund on my subscription, they basically say ‘tough, not our problem, here’s a minute discount off a new adapter that will work’

9. I bought the alternative app and realised its faster, slicker, offers more options and more secure when coding.

10. When I posted this review first, I had a developer response- the usual canned rubbish. Then my review was deleted. Luckily for everyone: I had saved it and can repost for ever. 

Carly: please don’t bother responding to invite me to get in touch, I’ve tried that, see point8 above. Don’t sell subscriptions to elope while fully knowing that it won’t work with their adapter, in the hopes that you can force them into a new adapter purchase. If this happens, make the refund!
