The carrier app is not intuitive or user friendly when compared to the Nest thermostat and app. Love the HVAC, disappointed in the app.

App is freezing

Revised on 12/29/24. After the recent app update by Carrier, the app is now freezing. Nothing works until the iPhone is restarted. Please fix it asap.

1.8.7 what a joke. Constant software updates and they break more than is fixed. Wall controller still not in sync with app, notifications broken, air quality index not for my location/home. Now app tells me my filter is 0% used when my wall controller shows 50%. What a joke. Who runs the dev/qa team? I call and email in screen shots and provide the requested information then weeks later someone reads my review and asks me to send the information that I provided? Clearly a BOT. Updated- well after 3 emails with all the requested information @Carrier emails me asking for the same information that I have already emailed them 3 times. Pathetic. READ YOUR EMAILS AND FIX YOUR SOFTWARE. NO WONDER ALL THE 1 STAR REVIEWS. 1.8.6 still broken outside air quality. Although map was fixed the slider score does not match the location. All individual air quality ratings below slider are correct but slider score is not accurate and color does not match map. Wall controller and app not in sync Weather servers constantly down This app appears to be an afterthought and not developed by real software folks. There is no way this want issues with such a simple app. Pls get a team of real developers and QA testers Updated 12/8 version 1.8.5 The same usual bugs still exist that wall controller and app are not in sync. App says my heat is off….i am standing in front of it and it is on? Air quality is broken. Shops air quality for San Francisco when my address is on the east coast Now the weather forecast keeps going off line many times a day. I am connected to WiFi. Says can’t connect to weather servers What is it going to take to get real developers working on the app. This joke has been going on for over a year. Every software release breaks things and introduces more bugs Get your act together. Updated 11/13 With all the bugs and issues reported you think @resdigital @carrier put out out another version and try to fix things? It’s been more than 2 months since your last bug riddled version DO BETTER Updated 10/6 Figures that 1.8.4 introduces old bugs. Tested heating and now operating status for heating is not showing on app but shows on wall controller Clearly you have no idea how to sync the wall controller and the app. So we are clear and you don’t ask for the same thing over again Wall controller shows furnace operating at 40%. App shows furnace as OFF Do better test ur app and fix this garbage. Your systems are too expensive for novice developers

Unit won’t connect to server anymore since app update so app is now useless. Most expensive furnace ever to have ridiculous issues like this. Miss my ecobee everyday.

Not a trust worthy app to control a heating system. You never know what the thermostat settings are unless you login multiple times. The set temperature and actual temperature are different each time. Energy usage section is useless. Only displays gas usage not electric. Who even knows if it’s accurate. Funny thing is, the old app still works great and glad I still have it on my phone. How hard could it have been to use the code from that app and then futz with the graphical interface. Update on latest release. Why update an app that has no fixes and then make it worse? Three dots where the temperature setting is supposed to be. Obviously no testing is done before release. Just scrap this junk app and bring the old one back and call it a day. Update 12/28/2024 What’s going on with the time difference between the app and the actual thermostat? How hard is to properly code a basic thermostat?

Impossible to Setup

The QR scanner fails repeatedly. And the manual method complains that the information entered is incorrect, despite multiple careful checks. Awful app.

What happened to a good app?

This app is terrible due to a problem between the actual time and the time in the app. The time on the thermostat is correct but the time in the app is several hours ahead. As a result, the schedule is useless. It’s almost like the app is trying to use Greenwich mean time or something. And forget trying to get help from their website. They just really want to sell you something new.

Persistent opening issue

It MAY open fine, and then you get the message it has not connected to the internet for awhile. This is an anomaly of the app NOT our wi-fi. I miss the old app.

Basic info with a side of app freezing

The app is OK when it works but lately I have to kill it after every use because the app is unresponsive. UI is not that intuitive and why the lack of direct integration with HomeKit remains annoying.
