Terrible App with features that barely work. women on here have no idea why they are on here . Women- just figure your life out a little bit before you join Catholic match . Men don’t want wish washy women who don’t want to date for marriage.
The app works okay. I've been using it a few days and can tell that the messages glitch a bit. I regularly don't receive notifications and sometimes have to close and re-open the app to try to make new messages load, which slows down conversation some. The biggest issue with the app is that you can't filter potential matches by liturgical preference. I only want to date someone who attends the Traditional Latin Mass, so every one of the potential people shown to me through the 'match' setting hasn't been compatible. You can manually search people and filter those searches by liturgical preference, but it's disappointing the main match feature doesn't allow that.
I’ve been on this site for two years and while I like perspective ladies that I could see a future with or just get to know, I either get blocked for sending the first message or they do not like me back. Two years of no likes and even modifying my profile on a monthly basis doesn’t seem to fit in the mold of a match. Should be called CatholicMatchLess. Why should I even pay for a subscription when no lady ever likes me back or anything? It would just do us men a favor that if they do not want to hear from us to just block us. No feelings hurt and I’m not going to cry over a girl who may or may not be real to message me or like me. My subscription ends today and don’t count of me ever buying a subscription again.
The layout is simple and easy to navigate. My concerns 1. The app is $30 a month to even send a message. Tinder, plenty of fish etc allow simple messaging and if you are looking for something specific there is a option to upgrade to premium 2. Some of these profiles look either fake or they haven’t logged in for a while. 3. The monthly subscription is a bit much with so much uncertainty
I would not recommend anyone to use this app. It’s so difficult to find someone, you just received an email that someone has viewed your profile but when you check who has viewed your profile, it’s blurry as they want you to pay to view the profiles that has viewed you. I really regret purchasing and sending multiple accounts to see who will reply but none care about your message
I learned that the “take a break” option currently does nothing for users who have already viewed your profile, it only keeps you from showing up in new searches. There should at LEAST be a tag on your profile that says you’re on a break, or some other way to indicate to these other users that your status is temporarily inactive. As a female in a large city, I also found the amount of activity to be a bit overwhelming at times (particularly in the first week or so, which I assume is due to the “New Users” feed). If there was a way to hide your profile from new searches but still chat with people who have already viewed/messaged you, that’d be great
unless you plan on fixing this @catholicmatch don’t reply, but my app is CONSTANTLY frozen or crashes completely. some days it’s smooth but most days, i can hardly use the thing.
The app is okay for the most part. It would be nice if you could see someone’s activity. Has this person been online in days, weeks, months? You don’t know. The online dating culture is much the same here as other sites for young adults. People send likes, but then don’t respond to messages or do you respond but ghost you. There aren’t many young adults on it either. A lot of the same profiles still on when I got the app 9 months ago. In 9 months I went on 2 dates with one person. I think the biggest thing holding this app back is the very limited amount of young adults that are nearby. If you’re not interested in long distance maybe this app isn’t for you. Haven’t really talked to many people either because of the culture on here. You would think there would be a bit more charity and humility on a Catholic site which isn’t really CatholicMatches fault.
I don’t like that you have to pay a subscription to know who likes you or to talk to someone who you also like…why should dating have to cost to find love I think that’s unacceptable.
