Most of this app is just advertising and not a news app

Why am I paying taxes for the CBC to force me to watch ads on news stories!!!!!

This was a fantastic app, and a great way to circumvent the social media blocking of news, the journalistic content on this app is still the same good quality as ever but the number of adds has been slowly increasing over the last few months, now its to the point where sometimes theres a banner running across the top of the article as well as many adds built into the article itself. Not to mention the 4 minute long unskippable adds on videos. The app is becoming increasingly frustrating to use not only because of the disgusting increase in adds, but also in the quality of the adds themselves. Canadas premier news source now runs adds hocking fake diet supplements or adds for fake gossip columns.

Can no longer sort my local new chronologically and there are too many ads now. Used to be more enjoyable. Please allow me to sort again and i’ll stop complaining about the ads and ip my review star rating.

Whenever I click on a story notification it prompts me to create an account. This is slightly annoying but fine. However it then doesn’t take me to the story I wanted to view and instead brings me to the main page. This is incredibly frustrating as the story I want is sometimes not easily found again and it often leads to me just giving up and not reading the story. I would prefer that I didn’t get prompted to create an account at all but if it must be that way at least take me to the story I wanted after I hit skip.

I am pretty much done with this app because whenever an ad pops up, it is impossible to close by tapping the “x” in the corner. ..does not work, so sorry CBC, going to CTV News.

I already pay for the CBC with my taxes. Quit filling pages with ads and showing commercials before playing breaking news videos. If revenue is an issue, quit giving out executive bonuses. I went back to the web version so AdBlock Plus can kill all the ads.

What happened to the sort choice of most recent news story in your local region? Put it back please.

The app refuses to remember my session. Everytime I open the app I am prompted to sign in again. If I come from a notification on a story I sign in and lose context and am not taken to the story I was accessing. Couple that with signin through a 3rd party being extremely slow and it has rendered the app borderline unusable.
