This method of prayer is both a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship. Centering Prayer is not meant to replace other kinds of prayer; rather it casts a new light and depth of meaning on them. Centering Prayer is an ancient method of Christian prayer adapted for modern times by Fathers Thomas Keating, William Meninger and Basil Pennington. The Centering Prayer application will support your daily prayer practice commitment. Beautiful and peaceful, the app includes an adjustable timer, as well as opening and closing prayer options that you may read before and after your silent prayer time. An assortment of sounds and backgrounds allow you to choose the type of environment you want to create for your prayer time. Brief instructions for learning Centering Prayer are also included. It is recommended you practice being in relationship with God through Centering Prayer twice a day for 20 minutes to begin with. ## Centering Prayer Screenshots - [Screenshot 1](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple211/v4/e9/b3/98/e9b398e5-c23d-97a6-ae93-7cfbf4cb50be/tns.bmhshfca.png/2048x2732.png) - [Screenshot 2](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple211/v4/bc/32/6f/bc326f2f-3298-08ea-6a40-adfebe1e74da/pr_source.png/2048x2732.png) - [Screenshot 3](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple211/v4/44/16/bc/4416bc4d-3fd8-f357-100f-94bed9916160/pr_source.png/2048x2732.png) - [Screenshot 4](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple211/v4/ad/44/c2/ad44c29e-9f83-e13c-1bba-05a148bc71aa/pr_source.png/2048x2732.png) - [Screenshot 5](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Purple211/v4/bb/77/61/bb776178-ae92-70ed-251a-ed69a23ac406/pr_source.png/2048x2732.png) ## Centering Prayer Rating Breakdown in United States - 5 stars: 16,203 (92%) - 4 stars: 1,189 (7%) - 3 stars: 166 (1%) - 2 stars: 32 (0%) - 1 stars: 52 (0%) ## Centering Prayer Reviews in United States ### ***** "So thankful for Thomas Keating" He had so much wisdom to offer. His teachings are a blessing straight from heaven. The app is good but I needed to hear and understand more about centering prayer in order to fully benefit from this practice. Again, so grateful for the free teachings recorded of him that are online. -- JustAnotherRipoffApp, 2024-10-29 ### ***** "Excellent, elegant app" This beautiful, simple, easy to use app does just what you want it to. There are a few important personalization options and then, it just works. Love it! -- ImogeneBartley, 2024-10-25 ### ***** "Absolutely Indispensable" I’ve used this app since it came out. I really enjoy how customizable it is, including the colors for each season, the scripture verses in themes, and the variation of different sounds. As a psychotherapist and spiritual Director I’m always working with people who I introduce to CenteringPrayer. The app is one of the first things I direct them to since it includes the four guidelines and it’s so easy to use. -- MJCusick21, 2024-10-06 ### ***** "Extra good for ADHDers" I have trouble organizing and remembering and centering prayer centers me. I love Thomas Keating’s prayers, and all the music. The prayers at beginning and end are Beauuuuuutifuulllllllllll ! -- ADHD review a DHD., 2024-10-01 ### ***** "Perfect Meditation Timer" For all meditation practices -- S. C. Turner, 2024-09-17 ### ***** "Best App for Centering Prayer" I’ve been doing Centering Prayer for a very long time. This app makes it so much easier to implement a daily practice. There are many ways to customize your sits to your specific needs and preferences. It even allows the user to get more information and connect with the resources of the Contemplative Outreach community, if needed. I rely on it every day. What a blessing! -- Feather Breath, 2024-09-07 ### ***** "Lord’s Prayer" I’ve been doing centering prayer every morning using the app. I don’t start my day with out it. So helpful for my spiritual life. I use the ending with Father Thomas saying the Lord’s Prayer. I wish that would be offered today as a ending prayer. Mine started many years ago. My friends can’t use it as it’s not offered. Please put it back as a choice for ending prayer. So helpful to hear Thomas’s voice. -- Dorothy Gilbert, 2024-08-29 ### ***** "Good, but needs Apple Watch support" App is great, but it would be great if the app was on my watch. Running apps, workout apps, etc., but no prayer apps… -- BNoltner, 2024-08-20 ### ***** "On Being still" I am more able to be still and connect to the God of my understanding by using this app. My days are fuller and richer -- Ashton 52, 2024-08-04 ### ***** "Best timer" I very much prefer the timer in this app over other apps that seem to turn meditation into a competition by showing you your consecutive days and accumulated minutes etc. This app focuses on facilitating centering prayer in a very effective way. I enjoy the option of adding a simple verse to begin and my favorite ending sound is the closing bell with Thomas Keating slowly reciting the Lord’s Prayer. -- LJC—, 2024-07-29 [View all Centering Prayer reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## Centering Prayer In-App Purchases | Item | Price | |------|-------| | Three Main Practices | $23.99 | | Practicing the Holy Spirit | $9.99 | | Centering Prayer, Prayer of Consent | $9.99 | | Complete Contemplative Life Program | $109.99 | | Welcoming Prayer: Consent on the Go | $9.99 | | Active Prayer: Pray Without Ceasing | $9.99 | | Spirituality of Money: In God We Trust | $9.99 | | Discipline of Prayer, Intimacy with God | $9.99 | | Hospitality: The Dance Between Guest and Host | $9.99 | | Lectio Divina: The Ancient Practice of Praying the Scriptures | $9.99 | ## Centering Prayer Discovered Keywords -
