OK with one vehicle, terrible with two
The App almost worked as advertised with one Tesla, but doesn’t cope at all now that I’ve got two. Great concept but needs a heap of work:

Guys, even if you don’t have solar or battery, this app is FANTASTIC at making sure you’re charging when it’s cheap. All you need to do is set up your power providers API details in the app (super easy to do), set a few preferences & you’re off any running. Very happy 😃
I was lucky enough to be referred to this app while it was still free, but it’s so good I’m going to go subscription to support the team behind this. I hope Tesla doesn’t buy them as they’ll screw it up for sure. I found it a bit tricky to set up, but after leaving out some of the options, it did it’s thing like a charm. Can’t believe the Tesla guys with their ludicrous 1/2 gigabyte app can’t offer even part of it’s functionality. Even just the power source tracking makes it so useful, then you’ve got the automatic solar tracking so you don’t have to keep juggling charging rates to make best use of excess solar. Just to clarify, we’ve got a powerwall and a model 3 with the Tesla power router and the Tesla app still doesn’t do half of Charge HQ’s stuff.
This app is fantastic for EV owners with a modern solar system. The app reads the output from your solar inverter and then allows you to use only solar to charge your EV. Seamless and brilliant.
It was a great relief when Charge HQ came along! Prior to that I’d been monitoring solar production and starting and stopping charging manually. The app has loads of features catering for all EV usage scenarios and charging requirements. I don’t have a home battery yet but Charge HQ even supports that as well. Highly recommended!
I am very impressed with Charge HQ. I have an existing solar system and bought OCPP compliant ZJ Beny charger. The guidance on ChargeHQ's website was perfect and I was up and running in 10 mins. The app interface is very well considered. A good amount of detail and control. My car is now charging only when solar is available, or if I override it and tel it to charge anyway. Great app. Look forward to control of other devices one day?
Love it. Bit of mucking around setting it up as we have two teslas and two fronius inverters on two separate phases. No reflection on the product. Just not a typical house. I ended up setting up two charge HQ accounts, one for each car. Saw the Amber link and set that up too. Works great. Much cheaper. Hasn’t missed a beat. I set the “always charge” price to 10c/kwh plus solar excess charging. It just works and makes charging the cars a seamless and low cost activity. Very impressive product. Nice work.
Australian government should be promoting this app to the world. Recognise a market leader that could make a global impact. Tesla ought to buy it and integrate into its own software. No extra hardware required but a simple software solution to feed excess solar to your car. Can’t discuss EV’s with friends and family without mentioning Charge HQ. It literally convinces people to go EV path.
This app is an absolute must to get as much of those precious solar kWh straight to the car's battery. Other than long drives, my car is almost exclusively powered by solar thanks to Charge HQ. The developer is very responsive and engaged with the user community, which is a big plus.
Must have for Tesla owners! Out of the box any extra free Solar is siphoned to the car. Much cheaper than buying a car smart charger!
