## Checkered Description
Checkered is an INDEPENDENT, FAN-MADE widget app for stock car racing fans. It is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any racing league. All third-party names, marks, and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

It puts the next race on your home screen: track, time, broadcast info, and a countdown — across home and lock screens, with photography, schedules, and live data sourced from publicly available APIs.

Built for fans who want one-glance answers — what track, what time, what channel — without opening a heavy companion app. Every widget is live. Every widget earns its home screen real estate.

WIDGETS FOR EVERY SURFACE

Home screen:
• Next Race — Small and Medium widgets with aerial track photography
• Race Week — Medium and Large weekend session schedule across all three national stock car series
• Last Race Results — the podium from the most recent race
• Top Drivers — current championship leaders with photos
• Your Driver — follow your favorite racer with current rank, points, and last finish

Lock screen:
• Inline — race name, countdown, network, above the clock
• Rectangular — bold race headline with date, time, and TV partner
• Circular Gauge — countdown arc, with playoff-position option
• All lock-screen widgets mirror to Apple Watch via the iOS Smart Stack

FEATURES

• 26 stock car tracks with licensed aerial photography from Wikimedia Commons
• Sponsor-named events when applicable
• Three national stock car series: Cup, Xfinity, and Truck
• Race number in season context
• Countdown that ticks from days down to hours down to minutes as the race approaches
• Time zone picker — see times in your local zone or any of the major US race zones
• Series filter — follow all series or just one
• Driver tracking with photos and standings
• Three-step widget onboarding flow on first launch
• Zero data collection. No accounts. No advertising. No tracking.

DESIGNED FOR FANS

Dark asphalt aesthetic. Real aerial photos of major American superspeedways, short tracks, and road courses. Clean color palette with red countdown accents. Series badges in series-authentic colors. Network chips for major broadcast partners.

DATA SOURCES

Schedule and standings are sourced from publicly available sports data APIs. Driver headshots from a publicly accessible content delivery network. Track photos from Wikimedia Commons under their respective Creative Commons or public domain licenses. Full attribution is in Settings → Credits inside the app.

REQUIREMENTS

• iOS 17 or later
• iPhone and iPad supported
• No sign-in required

Built by fans, for fans.
