## ChildFolio Teacher Description
We are born to learn. An infant’s brain grows rapidly and remains highly "plastic" or malleable during the first five years.

Important creative thinking and social-emotional skills must take root early on to become stable parts of their evolving minds. Interactions with adults, activities with physical materials, and free play with peers all set the stage for learning that has been shown - time and again - to lead to future academic, professional and personal success.

Parents are now able to learn, monitor, and engage more with their children via with informal media.

We believe that if parents can incorporate a parent-facing reporting system into their busy lives, this data has the potential to encourage and support parent behaviors which improve learning for children.

ChildFolio connects all stakeholders - parents, caregivers, teachers, curriculum developers - with a vested interest in a child’s educational outcomes together, with common visibility into the child’s growth, experiences, successes and struggles, in a way that encourages interactions with the child to further support their comprehensive learning.

### ***** "A great tool for teachers and parents"
ChildFolio is a wonderful tool to share with parents as to what the children are participating in. It documents the skills they are actively learning in their classrooms. Most importantly it captures the social skills and friends that they are playing with.

### ***** "Easy assessments"
I love using the ChildFolio app! As a teacher, I can quickly check off assessments on each child and mark their progress throughout the school year. Parents get pictures to document what we see in the classroom. A win for everyone!

-- Planting seeds preschool, 2020-01-23

### *---- "Alignment issues"
The app does not align itself with my states early learning standards. After calling the company for help I received no response after leaving multiple messages. MotherGoosetime did respond by saying they will be charging for the app one all the loose ends are fixed. Also we would like to let the app transition students from one classroom to the next each year to have 2-3 years of data saved.

### *---- "Do the developers know what they’re doing?"
I have no clue how this is still used in schools. The app requires multiple refreshes before any of my ratings or moments appear. This is. It user friendly at all. I have to use the app to archive my class then I can only add students using the web page and then have to go back to he app to set the rating period. I’m wondering if the people who develop this app ever test it out themselves. I was hoping this would help me as a teacher but it o it makes my job that much harder. Please get a real, active teachers input.
