CIRA Canadian Shield

App is storing tons of data in my iCloud account, over 500 MB.

Since charging this morning this app on its own sucked 14% of the battery. I had to turn it off. Protection perhaps but at risk of killing the battery.

As per other reviews on here this app drains the battery a lot. Only had it 5 days with premium - my battery says 45% of my usage is Canadian Shield, as compared to Chrome which is 15% which normally uses a lot of battery - so that should tell you something

Wifi keeps dropping when using this app. Moreover, it doesn’t seems to really protect my privacy since the websites I visit still remembers my device when using this app (even after clearing history and cookies). I tried another VPN app, and the sites that used to recognize my device couldn’t do that with the other app.

The application had to be deleted because it was causing the iPhone to rapidly switch between Wi-Fi and cellular, rendering the phone useless for mail and internet functionality.

I have disabled app as there are suddenly connectivity issues with my WiFi. WiFi keeps dropping and reconnecting when app is enabled.

Idea is really good, from trusted sources and We would like continuing using that Canadian solution, but since many months we have connection problems. We are not to able to connect easily on streaming services, we have to refresh pages when we surf… D’ont know if it’s a problem with our home network but all family members have unfortunately uninstalled. It was the same problems for everyone.

Erratic behaviour and not terribly good performance when compared to Google or Cloudflare had me turn it off, but even off using way too much battery. What’s up with that? At any rate I use their DNS servers on my home router and at home during lockdown most of the time anyway. Hope they fix it, great initiative.

I have had the Cdn shield app installed for less than 1 week and it has already used 2GB data on my phone!! What is going on??? And it keeps kicking off my fast home wifi.

It kept asking me to bond to my WiFi network, which isn’t needed, as my external DNS queries their servers. It seemed to kick me off my WiFi frequently when I was sitting on my patio - something that do don’t happen as often w/out the app. The final straw was the amount of battery power it consumes! 16% of my daily battery use was this app.
