## Classic Bid Whist Description
Classic Bid Whist — play offline vs smart AI.
No internet required. No sign-up. A four-player partnership trick-taking game built for practice, learning, and serious improvement.

Bid Whist is a fast, strategic game of bidding and contracts where teams try to win “books” (tricks). It’s more complex than basic Whist, but highly rewarding as you improve your bidding judgement, card counting, and partnership play.

Why you’ll like Classic Bid Whist
•	Offline play vs AI — no internet required
•	No account / no sign-up
•	Partnership play (4 players, 2 teams)
•	Smart AI difficulty: Easy, Medium, Hard
•	Play classic Bid Whist styles: Uptown, Downtown, and No Trump
•	Stats tracking to measure improvement
•	Hand replay from the bid or the play, plus trick review

Customise your rules
•	Win target: 7 or 14
•	Minimum bid: 3 or 4
•	Jokers: 0 / 1 / 2
•	Sport the kitty: Always / When trump is nominated / Never
•	No Trump bonus on/off
•	Boston bonus on/off
•	End hand when set on/off
•	Downtown beats Uptown on/off
•	One-tap play option, card sorting, replay from bid/play, and trick review
•	Theme and deck customisation

Quickfire rules
After the cards are dealt to four players, each player may pass or bid the number of books they believe their team can win above six. Bids can be Uptown (high cards), Downtown (low cards), or No Trumps. The winning bidder sets the trump suit (or direction for No Trumps), then picks up the kitty and discards the same number of cards. The bidding team is awarded the first book for taking the kitty.

Players then play tricks, following suit if possible; otherwise any card may be played, including trump. The bidding team aims to win enough books to meet or beat their contract, while the other team tries to set them.

At the end of the round, the bidding team scores 1 point per book over six if they meet or beat their contract. If they fail, they lose points based on the contract (according to your selected rules). The game is won when a team reaches +7 or forces the opponents to -7.

## Classic Bid Whist Reviews in United States

### ***** "Bid Game"
An AWESOME GAME!!!
-- ChiTown Bid, 2024-12-19

### ****- "Beautiful but missing some rules"
Paid 3 bucks to remove ads and support the dev since it’s a great app.

Bid whist has been a tradition in my family for generations so it is awesome to play this for practice.

Fantastic visuals and sound effects. Reminds me of KOTOR!

I was pleased to see these rules that we play with:
- No jokers
- Sporting the kitty

However, some other rules that we play with are missing:
- forced four: someone must bid at least 4, which may be forced to the last bidder
- point only bids: uptown/downtown/no trump is not part of the bid
- dealer steals kitty: the dealer may take the kitty at the highest bid
- follow the leader: kitty recipient chooses uptown/downtown/no trump after the discard and plays the first card
- setting team scores: if the setting team sets, they score the bid plus 1 point for every 2 extra books won
- win target: 21
- negative scoring: off

It would be awesome if these could be implemented!
-- SealedServant, 2024-10-10

### ***** "Great at teaching"
I downloaded the game to understand it better so I can play with my elders and I didn’t expect it to be as entertaining and enjoyable as it is now and I can’t stop playing it although I wish it would let you play solo instead of on teams all the time
-- IcyThought, 2024-09-12

### ***** "Sporting the Kitty"
I have never seen an online Bid Whist game where you show what is in the kitty like many people do in real games. This is the best one so far however I am not sure why it doesn’t start pulling trump first. It is hard to win when your partner gets cut with a trump card they didn’t pull.
-- Not from around here anymore, 2024-07-27

### *---- "CHEATING GAME APP"
This game allows your computerized opponents to play out of suit although it’s supposed to be set where no one can play out of suit. I’ve experienced it numerous times and it’s infuriating. I deleted the app…. What’s the point?
-- ksunz, 2024-05-13

### ***** "Bid whist"
Very relaxing and helps me stay up on my game
-- sweettyus, 2024-05-10

### ****- "Great Game for Real Bid Players"
Would love to see the other players (computer) be more aggressive especially when they have Jokers
-- Big Curt -ATL, 2024-04-30

### ***-- "Hands down"
If you have no more losers you should be able to lay the cards down and not have to play it all the way through
-- Toney I, 2024-04-29

### ***-- "The Algorithms"
It is a fun game, but the algorithms really don’t match actually playing with the partner. Sometimes I forget and yell at my partner for making a completely dumb move! I mean really dumb move. I’ve learned to just know when to out bid my partner now no matter if I have it or not!😜
-- georgiapeach361, 2024-04-23

### ****- "Algorithm needs revamping"
Great game! But some of plays don’t make sense
-- Ms JPT, 2024-04-23
