Description

"My most indispensable app is my guitar tuner, Cleartune. None of the old visual or analog tuners are as precise. I've even taken it on stage with me!" - Rosanne Cash
"Cleartune and Clockwork are my most used apps." - Ezra Oklan (Nicole Atkins, Norah Jones, Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra, Matt Beck (Matchbox 20), Chico Hamilton, Arnie Lawrence)
"I've been having trouble with interference on stage with other tuners for the iPhone. Used Cleartune last night before a gig and had no problems with stage noise. Excellent tuner for bass." - Rob Calder (Kanye West, Angus and Julia Stone, The Break and Repair Method, Ghostface Killah)
Used in the making of the Gorillaz album "The Fall"

Cleartune is a chromatic instrument tuner and pitch pipe that allows you to quickly and accurately tune your instrument using the built-in mic in your device.
Cleartune features a unique "note wheel" interface allowing you to quickly find your pitch, paired with a highly responsive fine-tuning meter for the perfect tune.
With support for custom temperaments, transposition, notations such as solfège, and adjustable calibration, Cleartune packs more power than most pro tuners, yet is simple enough for everyone to use.

Cleartune can tune acoustic or electric guitar, bass, bowed strings, woodwinds, brass, piano, tympani and any other instrument that can sustain a tone.
Most electronic tuners cannot properly tune a violin. With a built in temperament for violin family instruments, Cleartune will have the 5ths singing perfectly.
Features:
- Note Wheel Display
- Ultra responsive 25 cent range fine tuning display
- Needle Damping option
- Accuracy ±0.01 semitone (±1 cent)

Cleartune Reviews

Used to be good

App freezes sometimes as not detection stops. Needle then won’t move requiring app restart. Does this on both iPad and new iPhone

Was good..

When I first got this tuner years ago, it was great. Spot on, last couple of years it struggles to identify notes and is slow.

Rubbish

Muso 111111 on

I purchased on recommendation from blues harmonica.com. It works fine on guitar most of the time. Does not work at all on harmonica. Fails to recognise signal, it is obviously looking for perfect sine wave otherwise you get nothing from it. There are many free tuners on the market that work fine, don’t waist your money on this unsupported rubbish.

Great Tuner

Easy to read. Stable. Accurate. No complaints.

DUMB- NEEDS UPDATE

Emma.ertyuiopasdf on

this app is a great app, however, it glitches whenever I use it. It freezes and does not show the note that you are playing. This app NEEDS AN UPDATE. You can not tune with it as it keeps freezing.

Happy

I had been using a free tuner app. Ads were super annoying and it seemed like it was very vague and would need to be resting against sound hole. Was hesitant to pay (yeah I know 6 bucks) for an app. This one is super sensitive, very precise and I don't need to put on my glasses to read it. Money well spent.

Rubbish - Don’t Purchase

miss_mblue on

Australia

I read great reviews in this app, so purchased it. The pitch pipes don’t work (no sound plays) so I looked into it. Turns out that it hasn’t been updated for years and the app developers website bounces back, so no chance of support or refund.

Great app!

I use it a lot for tuning guitar and bass

Now useless

Andro1 on

Australia

Can no longer open this app and the support page does not allow email to be sent and comes up with an error so there is no way of informing bitcount that this app does not now work on the iOS 9 iPad. I used to use this every day to tune my violin so am lost without this paid for app!

Issues since update

abdelm on

Australia

Used to be the best tuner I had for violin, but since the recent update a few months ago it has been unreliable and slow to adapt to change in pitch which it used to handle quite well. For example, I notice a massive delay between playing a D and an E in on the violin.
