Demonstrable outcome of corporate buzzwording. In an attempt to play the “we’re into IOT and we’re relevant” card Schneider have delivered the Nokia of home technology. Flaky connectivity and OTA firmware upgrades, looses all connections on the reg. Only useful if you own a one bedroom flat.

If you want a smart home you don’t want this app!

This app only really allows switch by switch remote control via Bluetooth and is not practical if you are trying to create a smart home.  

I’ve had the BLE switches for 18 months and was extremely frustrated with the lack of integration with a smart home and the expense per BLE switch mechs was a huge jump up from standard switch mechs (albeit a lot cheaper than something like Clipsal CBUS and operates on standard wiring)

Fortunate select BLE enabled switches and dimmers have zigbee built in (requires pressing 12 times and waiting 40 seconds to switch between BLE/zigbee modes) which is fully supported with “Wiser by SE” app when using a Wiser Hub ($406 AUD RRP - very pricey in comparison to other hubs). Even though the switches support Zigbee standards, hubs such as the Philips Hue hub do not detect the switches.

The Wiser by SE app allows Alexa/Google home assistant integration!

A basic app that does as advertised but really needs integration with services like Siri Shortcuts and IFTTT. UI isn’t great and is not very responsive while it waits to retrieve status from the devices. Ideally Clipsal will release HomeKit enabled switches and devices and build integration into other services.

I got my electrician to put in Wiser switches, really expensive, and you can even use the wiser app with google assistant, would not recommend!

Been using this app for a few months. Works well but the timer schedule function is not working in my version despite showing in the App Store screenshots. This makes it hard to turn on lights as you need to be in Bluetooth range. My lights are outside. Factor this in if purchasing these products. Also the firmware update function doesn’t work. Advice from Clipsal was to disable the reminder. Helpful!

I am loving the Clipsal Wiser Room app. Is it possible to create a widget for the lock screen on an iPhone so I can control my lights from here rather than unlocking the phone, opening the app and selecting the lights?

I don’t have dimmer lights and were all full power on or off. The lights only flicker now for all my Bluetooth lights since the update :(
