Within seconds, you'll be flipping through a schedule made entirely of your own home media server content. Jump right in with the on-screen cable guide and watch whatever's on, just like the old days. You can't pause, you can't skip forward, you can't rewind - all you can do is change the channel. Experience the joy of randomly happening upon a great scene in a movie you forgot you had, or a TV show marathon for an old favorite. Coax requires no setup at all - it uses the metadata your media library already has. If you want, you can create your own custom Lineups, with all sorts of simple yet powerful scheduling rules - create a Saturday Morning Cartoons Lineup for your inner (or actual) child, or a Late Night Thrillers Lineup for date night. Important: This app requires a Plex account and access to a Plex Media Server (or Jellyfin, or Emby). Coax does not provide or distribute any media; it only connects to content you already own. How to configure your Lineups: • Coax scans your home media libraries and generates a channel guide based on your content’s metadata. • Select which channel categories you want: Genre, Decade, Recent Additions, Actor, Studio, Director, and Collections. • Create 100% custom channels using Collections. • Unify your libraries to mix TV and movie channels. • Adjust the number of channels you want to generate. •  Customize the time between your programs with Gap Content - play Trailers, or content from another Library if you want! Coax is your personal “cable box” for your own content — no extra accounts, no third-party streaming, just your Plex library organized in a fun, nostalgic way. ## Coax Screenshots - [Screenshot 1](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource211/v4/df/0b/83/df0b83bb-e863-cc7f-8cb0-7abc1c529fb1/iphone.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 2](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource221/v4/47/7a/23/477a2354-1dd0-e7c5-32ae-bdd7865e6126/weather-guide.jpg/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 3](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource211/v4/43/35/66/43356634-c28d-c190-a949-79c3d60f5ee4/collections.png/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 4](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource221/v4/76/07/38/7607387a-1d70-9d81-09b7-edcc9daf0850/retro-full-screen.jpg/1284x2778.png) - [Screenshot 5](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource211/v4/a7/55/30/a75530ed-6bd7-2439-f8c5-c13384690018/schedule-printed-2.jpg/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 6](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource221/v4/3b/d1/5e/3bd15ebb-b375-b068-0d1f-1434637c5970/weather-printed.jpg/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 7](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource221/v4/0c/cc/a4/0ccca478-04c6-9abc-9ec2-90f467fa26df/schedule-printed-1.jpg/1242x2688.png) - [Screenshot 8](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource211/v4/53/4c/0e/534c0e61-268f-fd0b-152a-ae6332698937/schedule-printed-3.jpg/1242x2688.png) ## Coax Rating Breakdown in United States - 5 stars: 33 (80%) - 4 stars: 0 (0%) - 3 stars: 0 (0%) - 2 stars: 1 (2%) - 1 stars: 7 (17%) ## Coax Reviews in United States ### *---- "Even beta tester can’t afford it" The developer intentionally hid pricing from everyone who supported the development of this app. When he announced the insane, ridiculous, pricing on Reddit, he even locked the comments on the post so people couldn’t directly complain. You can buy full phot and video editors for half the price of Coax. There is no justification to charge close to $100 for what is a cool nostalgic gimmick. What a middle finger to the community and beta testers like myself who poured countless hours into testing this before launch. -- Anony00_, 2026-02-22 ### ***** "Plex content as TV" This is a fantastic way to enjoy your plex media. Coax turns your media into an old school television style viewing with full tv guide. -- JDM012, 2026-02-22 [View all Coax reviews and detailed analytics on AppTail](https://app.apptail.io/signup?utm_campaign=ai-crawl&utm_content=reviews) ## Coax In-App Purchases | Item | Price | |------|-------| | Lifetime | $59.99 | | Monthly - 1st Week Free | $2.99 | | Annual - 1st Week Free | $29.99 | ## Coax Available In - [United States](https://apptail.io/app/coax-surf-your-plex-server-kuGy/united-states) - [Australia](https://apptail.io/app/coax-surf-your-plex-server-kuGy/australia) - [Canada](https://apptail.io/app/coax-surf-your-plex-server-kuGy/canada) - [Switzerland](https://apptail.io/app/coax-surf-your-plex-server-kuGy/switzerland) - [Germany](https://apptail.io/app/coax-surf-your-plex-server-kuGy/germany) - [United Kingdom](https://apptail.io/app/coax-surf-your-plex-server-kuGy/united-kingdom) - [Ireland](https://apptail.io/app/coax-surf-your-plex-server-kuGy/ireland) - [Iceland](https://apptail.io/app/coax-surf-your-plex-server-kuGy/iceland) - [Jordan](https://apptail.io/app/coax-surf-your-plex-server-kuGy/jordan) - [Malta](https://apptail.io/app/coax-surf-your-plex-server-kuGy/malta) - [Mexico](https://apptail.io/app/coax-surf-your-plex-server-kuGy/mexico) - [Malaysia](https://apptail.io/app/coax-surf-your-plex-server-kuGy/malaysia) - [Norway](https://apptail.io/app/coax-surf-your-plex-server-kuGy/norway) - [New Zealand](https://apptail.io/app/coax-surf-your-plex-server-kuGy/new-zealand) - [Sweden](https://apptail.io/app/coax-surf-your-plex-server-kuGy/sweden) - [Slovakia](https://apptail.io/app/coax-surf-your-plex-server-kuGy/slovakia) - [Vietnam](https://apptail.io/app/coax-surf-your-plex-server-kuGy/vietnam) - [South Africa](https://apptail.io/app/coax-surf-your-plex-server-kuGy/south-africa) - [China](https://apptail.io/app/coax-surf-your-plex-server-kuGy/china) - [Spain](https://apptail.io/app/coax-surf-your-plex-server-kuGy/spain) - [France](https://apptail.io/app/coax-surf-your-plex-server-kuGy/france) - [Honduras](https://apptail.io/app/coax-surf-your-plex-server-kuGy/honduras) - [Hungary](https://apptail.io/app/coax-surf-your-plex-server-kuGy/hungary) --- ## About AppTail [AppTail](https://apptail.io) is a mobile app intelligence platform providing app analytics, ASO (App Store Optimization) tools, keyword tracking, competitor analysis, revenue estimates, and review monitoring for iOS App Store apps.
