CollaNote: Notes & PDF Markup

I don’t usually leave reviews but CollaNote is an amazing app. This app saved me throughout university with the option to save files to my iCloud. The app is easy to use and has so many functionalities.

I love this app for note taking and being able to keep my notes organised. It’s completely free and you can make as many notes and folders as you want. If you’re a student one of the best parts is that you can import pdfs so can do exam papers on it. However, for me it often glitches e.g. drawing random lines for prom where I am writing from. These glitches can be frustrating and can make note taking take a lot longer as I constantly have to rub out the lines. Otherwise, this app is great!

does not provide help when needed,have to pay £12.90 just to change paper colours,rude community and not a lot of available stickers/options ect don’t download it.

Doesn’t work with a Apple Pencil

I love this app and all its features. It’s great for students trying to make notes or flash cards and in public/chat rooms you can talk to other people! This is dangerous so I have rated it 4 star but I haven’t met a single mean person. The only improvement I’d make is on public/chat rooms people can rub out other people’s artwork or writing which is especially annoying when you’ve spent ages on a drawing for someone to just rub it out.

I initially turned to CollaNote as I was sick and tired of having to pay for simple features such as creating a new notebook. I’ve tested Apple Notes, OneNote, Notability and Goodnotes, and none of them are as simple and well organised as CollaNote. The main attraction here is the app’s price: free. Whilst there a premium version, I honestly there is no point in buying it unless you are an artist and need more brushes and utensils. Furthermore, you can create an infinite amount of infinite folders and notes, and even customise the background of each page, to whatever suits your taste (e.g. lined, graph paper). As a fountain pen collector, I was thrilled to see they have the option to write in fountain pen for free. I have been using CollaNote for 2 months as an A level student, particularly for maths and drawing. If writing large amounts of text is your thing, it still works very well for that too. I have had no issues whatsoever with CollaNote and so would gladly recommend it to anyone else looking for a free note taking alternative.

I am so sorry but the new update is completely different format and its putting me off. Theres also no pencil tool except a “sketch” tool thats super faint and not suitable for writing. I have used this app since the start of my degree and i am so upset over it. I wish they could just bring back the pencil tool… Also i have to scroll up and down to get my notes when previously it was all displayed within a single frame I am very glad that they have a flashcard section.

This feature was one of the reasons I chose your app, as it perfectly suited my workflow and enhanced my productivity. However, I was disappointed to find that this functionality has been removed in a recent update. It was an essential part of my workflow, and its removal has significantly impacted my experience with the app. I understand that updates are necessary to improve and evolve the application, but I kindly urge you to consider restoring this feature in a future update. Alternatively, if there are technical reasons for its removal, I would greatly appreciate an explanation. CollaNote is an incredible app, and I truly value the effort and dedication your team has put into its development. I hope this feedback can contribute to making the app even better.
