I don’t want to give my ID and personal info to some random app. But I’ve spent £400 on something that the money has come from a group of us. Now I’m paying for using this app by handing over my personal information that God knows who will see, or write off £200. I had rated this app very highly previously and was keen to use it again when organising another collection. This time around I set up the pot, sent everyone the link, and only after realised they now charge a compulsory 50p charge per contribution. It says it’s optional but there is no way to remove it from the payment. This is so embarrassing for me to have to go back to everyone I’ve sent it to and explain. I completely get that you need to make money from this service but I wish you’d made it clear when I set up the pot that this change had been made. If there was the option for me to pay the fee instead of the contributors I would have definitely opted for that as I believe this is a well designed app which provides a much needed service. I just don’t appreciate the lack of transparency and will not be using until again until such changes are made. EDIT: so here we are, decided to give the app another go for a collection I’ve just volunteered to organise (yep, I’m THAT mum at nursery!) and pleased to say the 50p charge has been removed and all is well again. I do actually appreciate this company listening to feedback and acting on it, so many couldn’t care less so big up to you guys! I like to send to my bank account first so I know it got there.
