I am a displaced Bento user and loved the old AppleWorks database. Alas, if I want to print I have to have each listing on an individual page! I don’t want 1800 pages when a spreadsheet like printout would work better and save the trees. I will continue to use this database but I am frustrated at how little It allows me to view. The front end is pretty rough but I don't think there's another app like this - Collections provides a somewhat user-friendly mobile database front end on mobile apps + Mac and syncs your data through iCloud, no subscription required. It has a lot going for it - cross device sync (iphone+mac), local storage, flexible views, diverse fields, easy entry of new items. But I’ve tried 3x to adopt it for several of my personal databases and each time I get held up in how intuitive (eg, nested options, weird input layout) it is to add new fields, add new views, edit either of them. It’s really stopping me from embracing this otherwise sound app…. Really nice having versions for Mac, iPad and iPhone so I can log entries from anywhere. Having the pros of a DB (more structured) along with the pros of something like Apple Notes (logging on the go) is what’s most powerful for me. I use it for logging home maintenance, lawn care, my kid’s heights, doctor visits…anything you may want to track and refer back to later. Formulas are a bit of a learning curve and take some trial and error. More documentation could help with that, but the developer was super helpful when I hit a wall. That was nice to see. Awesome import/export options, but import limited to new Collection (cannot bring data into preexisting). The only mobile app that I have found that supports CSV import with their related images. Good search options but can be a little confusing in the beginning with Indexes versus Search versus Views. Limited by iCloud only sync and no sharing. Primarily use it for tracking availability of inventory. I use this after leaving another quality product that cost more. I track my vintage purchases, inventory location, and eBay sales. Don’t know if there is a bulk import of sale (i.e. from a daily sales spreadsheet from eBay) so I simply enter the date am item was sold so it can be removed from inventory location.
