REVIEWS:
"The most useful language app for the iPhone - I've been using a number of iPhone apps to help me learn Italian. The dictionary is quite large. The at-a-glance conjugation tables are fantastic. And when I was learning numbers, the quick number pad was a brilliant help." -User review
"Buy it, it's the best - You get what you pay for in the AppStore. I tried all the other Italian translations tools as I'm learning Italian and living in an Italian speaking country. Prior to getting this tool I was frustrated to tears by the poor quality of the other tools." -User review
"This is an outstanding app, it has a deep database and you will leave your dictionary, phrase book and verb conjugation book at home when going to class or traveling (no need for an Internet connection either). Accurate translations, many idiomatic expressions given along with definitions."
This universal app will run on iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch, so you can purchase it once and load it onto all your devices. The iPad and iPhone/iPod touch versions look and behave differently to give you a great experience on every device you own. The interface will change, but you’ll always have the same outstanding language data and tools inside.

Nouns and verbs
I find that there is not enough of a marked difference between the nouns and the verbs under each word heading. For example Sleep which can be a noun or a verb, you have to scroll carefully through all nouns to eventually get to the verb which you can easily miss as it’s the same font as the rest. A slightly different bullet point is the only difference. The separation between the 2 should be much more clearly highlighted so that you could jump straight there.
This App does not work
The App was clumsy when moving between words and verbs. Many verb congregations are missing, and on occasions my whole list of saved words was lost. I had this App for a week but it just doesn’t work as advertised so I have now deleted it and find the free dictionaries much better. I asked the developer for a refund but was just told that, ‘unfortunately, Apple don’t allow developers to issue refunds.’
A useful dictionary for those looking to expand their vocabulary
Verb conjugation tables are useful (especially for the irregular ones). You can star/favourite words. App is easy to use.
A previous review said you can’t hear the words but if you hold down on one there’s an option to hear the word/phrase spoken.
I’ve got many Collins books for the Italian language and this is a good digital version of their physical dictionaries.
Limited
Colour for detailed definitions poor .
No speaker pronunciation available.
Expensive for what it is.
Excellent
I use it for Italian. Very good examples of usage for every word. Pity it doesn’t clarify that lui and lei are in common usage but that egli and ella are strictly the correct third personal pronouns to use with verbs in a literary context.
Extremely intuitive layout
So easy to use. Looking up a word never feels like a faff
Good, But Not Concise
I have been learning Italian in a class for 4 years now and have used many different dictionary apps (free and paid). None of them are perfect and it’s hard to get one that does everything an Italian-English dictionary should do.
This *seems* to be free of grammatical errors, but it lacks (at the time of writing) something which is an egregious oversight on the developer’s part - NO CONJUGATION FOR REFLEXIVE VERBS!
Anyone who learns Italian in a class will come across reflexive verbs at some point as a beginner. Scary as they are, the most basic introduction verb taught to beginners is lavarsi (to wash oneself). I looked this up in this dictionary and it was there, indicated as riflessivo, but WITHOUT CONJUGATION! So I looked up some other Italian reflexive verbs and none of them have any conjugation for mi, ti, si, ci, vi, si. This really devalues the high asking price for this app as reflexive conjugation is essential and believe me, the Italian language throws up reflexives all the time.
This needs rectifying immediately.
Furthermore, on normal verb conjugation the formal Lei has been omitted from the lui/lei conjugation. In the 21st century, not all Italians automatically ‘give the tu’ and there are many situations where you will be spoken to using formal verbs. Stuff like this needs to be sorted out as I assumed such oversights would not exist for the price!
I am considering asking for a refund now, but I’ve raised the issue with support and if they indicate the dictionary will be improved I’ll keep it.
Very helpful learning italian
Will identify a conjugated verb and alert you to false friends.
Only verbs and very expensive
This advertises itself as a complete dictionary, but it only does verbs. It’s completely stupid and a total rip off.
