This app is very helpful identifying colors - once you figure out how to get to the picker. For me, I hit the paintbrush icon, which brings up color sliders, then hit the right arrow to get to the picker. It allows using a photo from your library, or taking a new one in the app. Then move the image around to center the color you want. After that, the app appears to flash through various colors, honing in on the one closest to what's in the crosshairs, showing color family and name as it goes.
