CookBook Reviews

A life essential

King of Kissingdom on

I have had this app for several years and it has truly transformed my life. Storing recipes, planning meals, helping to easily tweak and refine recipes is so easy. The one bugbear I used to have was the tedious way you had to do the OCR scanning. But now, with the AI, it is AWESOME! A huge improvement on what was already a brilliant app. If you enjoy cooking, or even if you don’t (perhaps even more so!) you have to have this.

I’m obsessed with this app

Empacita on

If I had to pick only one app to have in my life it would be Cookbook. It has changed my life! I am literally obsessed with adding recipes and planning them and all the ways of categorising and searching... that you can set alarms while you cook and well - it just has everything. I absolutely LOVE it.

Brilliant!

Totally love my CookBook app! I can find recipes just by typing in the name of an ingredient that’s languishing at the back of my fridge so I can reduce food waste. The CookBook meal planner and shopping list functions reduce my bills because I can see at a glance what I have in my larder so I don’t “duplicate” shop. Easy to use and features that are so clever, I really enjoy using this App!

Holy grail

NikiQuad17 on

United Kingdom

My holy grail app! I never write reviews but I had to this time. I use it to plan my meals everyday! Easy to export from most websites and lays it out very well. Does not import recipes from Instagram unfortunately and doesn’t lay it out well. I have to manually paste it as there’s so many lovely recipes on Instagram. Developers, there’s another app that is a big competition called ReciMe. It’s doing the rounds on Instagram. If you could add this importing functionality to add recipes from Instagram would be a game changer!!

Why is this no longer available on my Amazon fire tablet?

???!!?????? on

United Kingdom

I have a fire tablet which is permanently in the kitchen primarily for accessing this app. It has disappeared- is this an Amazon thing or an app issue? I have to give a star rating to post. PURELY based on the fact that I can’t access it on a device I have been using for years, I’m giving it 1 star. The app itself is 5 stars. Let me know how to fix this and I will change the review.

Good app for saving recipes, and cooking from.

Rasselass on

A previous app I had left the universe, taking with it all my saved recipes, 😬so I paid for a lifetime sub with this app. (Not sure if it’s my lifetime or CookBook’s.) It pastes in recipes from webpages for you, plus photos, and breaks down the recipe into an ingredients list, and the method, so it’s like doing a science experiment. It saves the website, counts calories, cooking time, makes a cuppa, sings the baby to sleep…. I’ve been using it for 4 years, so far so good. NOTE; the app stays open until you close it, so although that’s good for cooking as you don’t have to touch your tablet/phone with sticky fingers mid cooking, but obviously it can drain your battery if you forget it’s on. 👍

Top App

Honestly the best recipe app I’ve used. So handy that I can import and edit from other sources. Easy to use and organise your recipes. Love it! ❤️

Best recipe manager

The only thing (for me) that it’s lacking is a pantry feature so that I can see what I have in stock/expiration dates etc. Using a separate app for this is laborious. Do you think this is something that you plan to add in the future?

Hyper links no longer link

Woodyoung on

United Kingdom

Hi. I used to love this app until it was changed such that all my many “ My Recipes” linked to The Times newspaper no longer open the recipe. All I get is a small box in the centre of the app webpage showing the Times but no recipe. It used to open seamlessly the recipe. I am subscriber to the Cook Book app and the Times. Very disappointing!

No longer opens

CharissaRB on

I love the app but now it refuses to open which makes me sad. After the first screen with the name of the app, I just get a white screen. I’ve tried and uninstalling it and reinstalling it but no improvement.
