HOW DOES IT WORK?
CookShelf includes both a free version and a Premium (paid) subscription. 

The free version lets you add up to 5 cookbooks and use all of CookShelf's features for those books—search, bookmarking, cooking goals, and tracking.

Premium unlocks your full collection:
◆ Add unlimited cookbooks
◆ Search across your entire library and over 15,000 indexed titles

You can start a free trial to access Premium. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, you'll be automatically charged the price shown on the payment screen for your chosen plan. Your CookShelf Premium subscription renews automatically each month or year until you cancel. Canceling disables the automatic renewal, but you'll keep full access through the end of your current period. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.

I've long struggled with a way to effectively search my cookery book collection, so this is a game changer. It’s really easy to use, especially with the barcode scanner - amazed that even my most obscure titles are indexed. I’m already planning next week's menu using books that I wouldn't normally consider. And justification (not that I need it) for the shelf space!

It’s quite easy to use, and simple- which I like. It was based from the EatYourBooks website. On the site , you can view a list of recipes in a potential book , eg on kindle,  before buying it. Unfortunately, the app doesn’t have this function.  

 Perhaps this can be incorporated?

It’s much faster than the website too 👍🏼

### ***** "Take my ******* money now!"
I LOATHE subscription apps but I’m going make an exception for this one if it goes like I think it’s going to. I invented this app YEARS ago, unfortunately I’m not an app developer so it just stayed in my head until it popped up on my instagram feed yesterday. I’ve spent a couple of hours scanning my cookery books ( 88 ) a few had to be searched for by name rather than scanning but I suspect that’s my phone problem and not app and even so it was super easy to do. I only had a couple of books not listed and they were like Marks and Spencer’s or freebies. I was surprised so many of them were there as some were old and very random. A few don’t have the recipes indexed yet so I’ve requested that, have no idea if it will work but it won’t matter anyway in the long run.
I’ve already committed to making 50 recipes ( you’d think someone with 88 cookbooks could manage more but here we are ) and have high hopes that my cookery book reading will actually turn into cooking. 
A suggestion for the app ( and it might already be there and I’ve just not found ) would be able to tag books somehow. I have favourites in some places and the not so popular kids are hidden away a bit would be lovely to be instantly see where I’ve stashed them but that’s just me getting excited.

I’ve been using eat your books for years and am a huge fan. The app, in its first iteration, is lovely and visual and makes it easy to search through my cookbooks. 

I use the shopping list extensively for meal planning so hope they add that soon in an update :)
