The app is unreliable. I’ve been a customer for at least a year. I pay for the premium subscription (UP), but the service is unreliable. Seriously considering switching back to one of my old services. Which makes me sad. I really did want to make this one happen. -- Beachbum4sun, 2026-09-19 ### *---- "Doesn’t work. Says go to website to order" I was really hoping the app would work. I downloaded it a few months ago and it didn’t work. Just updated it and tried it again and it still does not work. That has discouraged me from trying to order from them at this time. -- Lotuslu32, 2026-09-17 ### ****- "Meal Plan flexibility" This is feedback less about the app, and more about how subscribing to Cook Unity. I find it frustrating to handle ordering meals during a week where I don’t want to pause, but I want fewer meals due to travel. So far I’ve discovered the only way to do this is to reduce my meal plan size, and revert back to the larger size after my order is final (Tuesdays). I like to stay on top of the orders so my favorite meals don’t sell out, so when I switch my meal plan, I can’t “confirm” future orders for a higher meal count. I don’t feel good about confirming an order for more meals than the default cause I’m worried I won’t receive the bulk discount when I later confirm the order. I think the simplest solution would be to allow me to confirm an order for fewer meals than the default plan size, cause then I can confirm future weeks. Right now, if your cart is below the meal plan size, you can’t confirm the order. -- football+ali'12, 2026-09-15 ### *---- "Forced into a subscription just by opening the app" I opened the app after being a former user. It automatically opted me into a subscription and changed me even though I made no selections or placed any orders. This is an awful and greedy design to optimized to take money from users. -- owais-m, 2026-09-05 ### *---- "Horrible" I skipped my service twice and still got charged over a hundred dollars each time I’m not the only one who’s said this the app is trying to take everyone’s money regardless of if they want anything.. horrible and I wouldn’t sign up because there’s going to be charges unaccounted for in your bank account!! This app is a scam period! -- Cass enc, 2026-09-02 ### *---- "Horrible Service" Customer Service is horrendous. Sends duplicate meals and sometimes 3 of the same meal. Yes I have completed the taste and preferences profile. I asked for a 50% refund for one week’s meals due to repetitive nature week after week. They gave me a lot of excuses and zero help. I had been with them for over a year. Zero stars for customer service! -- Zero stars for service, 2026-08-30 ### *---- "Scam app" It automatically enrolls you into a subscription when you make an account and they don’t make it clear. So after you order once they will auto send you food very week. -- Rmod123, 2026-08-29 ### *---- "Poor customer service" The app is glitchy and slow. Even in NYC there aren’t that many good options to choose from I just eat the same things every week and sometimes I forget to choose and it auto selects… also customer service is bad -- Alexandre J Dumas, 2026-08-26 ### *---- "Beware if you have allergies" Their app recommended a chicken & dumpling dish to me when searching for chicken protein. I have my profile set up to note I’m allergic to fish and shellfish. I heated it up and almost ate it when I saw the package sleeve notes it contains fish. I searched hockey protein options again to see if I missed something. Next time other icons on the page you scroll was a tiny red dot with a slash. You have to go into each individual meal details to really see it contains fish. Why was it recommended as a meal option for me in the first place? -- HomeownerinNJ, 2026-08-25 ### *---- "Terrible Customer Service—Avoid This Company" My mom accidentally reactivated her account, and she didn’t even know that food had been ordered until it was delivered to an old address. When she contacted support, they refused to refund her and responded in a dismissive way that essentially blamed her for not being more careful. A reputable company should make its reactivation and ordering process clear and help customers when an honest mistake happens. Instead, this experience felt deceptive and completely lacking in compassion. I’m canceling my account and telling my friends and family not to use this service. -- Olson-ginger13, 2026-08-23 ### *---- "Great food, horrible app" If only the app were as gourmet as the food! The app (even after several “updates”) is buggy, hard to navigate, and needlessly convoluted. With all the money we pay for the great gourmet food, you’d think Cook Unity would find a good app developer. It’s getting to the point where o may cancel my membership. -- mark_it_zero, 2026-08-21 ### ***-- "Sad that this is the best out there" Food arrives warm, delivery drivers are unprofessional, and the website and app are buggy, but this is still the best food delivery service that I’ve tried, and I’ve tried a lot of them. No packing waste, biodegradable trays that can go in the oven, larger menu than competitors, but I still find myself having to reorder the same thing fairly often. -- MrOBrian, 2026-08-15 ### **--- "Found HAIR in food 🤮🤮" Just like any other food service it just gets old after a few weeks. My last order came last Friday and most of the meals expiration date only gave me a few days to eat 6 meals. Does not matter though as I was eating the Pork Shoulder and Mac&Cheese I literally pulled a fairly long black HAIR out of the pork. I'm traumatized. Make sure you check your food for HAIR 🤮🤮 -- Seek61, 2026-08-13 ### ***** "The best ready meals" I’ve done Factor prior to CookUnity and it’s not even close. CookUnity is SO MUCH BETTER. The options are better, shipping is better, the food tastes better and has more protein than factor. The cost is the same if not less! This is absolutely the way to go if you’re looking to buy meal ready meals. -- Ross Har, 2026-08-12 ### *---- "There is NO "What's New" tab in app or on website" Help! There is NO "What's New" tab in my app. I know exactly where it SHOULD be and it's not there. How can I get a human to fix this issue?? -- CarterDog, 2026-08-11 ### *---- "Not the best experience" Can’t resolve my problem. The app is easy to order and pay, but if you have any issues after that, forget it. AI is your only recourse. Maybe try using human beings to solve problems. I had a simple conflict, that could have easily been solved if there was a human being to answer questions. Instead I’m so frustrated texting to a computer. I WILL NOT put myself through this again. I haven’t even tried a meal yet. -- Hartwell10, 2026-08-08 ### ****- "Great App, couple of suggestions" The app is fairly smooth. I enjoy the convenience of it! Two things I would love to make it better: 1) Would be great to be able to hide meals from the list that you’ve tried and maybe they aren’t for you, or you know you would never order it because you don’t like a major ingredient. Would also help make sure they don’t get sent if you forget to update your order. 2) It doesn’t appear that you can review meals in the app. I can add an item as a favorite, but cannot rate or review anything. It would be nice to be able to provide feedback in the app. -- DocBrown086, 2026-08-08 ### *---- "Too many pop ups" The pop ups that keep appearing on every page change are beyond annoying. Let me do what I am doing first before you hammer me with upsells and other screens that have nothing to do with what I am trying to accomplish. Why if I am opening up the cart do I need an “ad” to appear to tell me to add something new? Let me go to the cart and do what I need to do. So annoying I might just cancel this because of this alone! -- mdyson, 2026-08-05 ### *---- "Bad meal quality, not a good meal prep alternative" Meals were gross and all except 1 went bad within 3 or less days. This meal service sucks. -- ggcfjnnxdyncxhknvzsekln, 2026-08-04 ### *---- "Just don’t" Once they have your card info, it’s extremely difficult to actually cancel your subscription. They obfuscate the cancel process and will happily keep charging you for items you didn’t select, instead of waiting for your confirmation! Now I have weeks of food sitting at an elderly persons door, rotting away while they are in another state getting medical treatment. Saw a ghost order got placed on my account, contacted same day, they refused to cancel saying they were going to send them out regardless, even after explaining the situation. When will these companies learn that Indian call centers and AI assistants only ruin the customer experience. Entire business model revolves around getting your credit card in their system.
