Description

Open any EAGLE CAD file (from version 6 and above) directly on your iPhone and investigate the PCB layout and schematics with your finger. Select parts and signals, manage parts and Bill of Materials.

Copper creates 3D versions of your PCB including parts that you assign from our extensive 3D model library to your footprints. Copper then renders a photorealistic representation in real time that you can touch, rotate and move in a virtual studio. Setup lights and materials like the solder mask or the floor.

Import EAGLE files from any source like the web (just download a ZIP file with EAGLE files), from Github, your Dropbox, or send PCB files directly via Airdrop, Mail or iMessage to your iPhone or iPad.

Every file you import is kept in Coppers library. This way you can build up a nice library of PCBs and Schematics right in your pocket.

Copper is also available for the Mac and both share the same codebase and file format.

Useful app

parsazh on

Hi,this is useful app but it’s needed to update to be better but don’t happen,I don’t know why!!…? But good and only this one work to open eagle files It will be great that happens for altiume “.pcbdoc” and “gerber” files but i don’t find any app in app store😔😑

Great idea, but too glitchy to use

perkinsb1024 on

I really wanted this app to work! Being able to review my PCBs on my phone or iPad would be super convenient. I was able to view the 2D Eagle files without problem, but the 3D views just don’t work. In one of the demo boards when you rotate to the bottom side, it is mirrored. On another board, it renders pads, but no board or traces. If the 3D render worked, it would be a 4 star app. The last feature it’s missing to be really functional is to support loading boards from the Files app. Currently, you can only load them from sources like a web server, Github, or Dropbox.

Great potential, stale

This app has great potential but it is not actively developed, and lots of bugs have accrued.

Can’t import

Screen glitches

20sparky17 on

This app is very useful, I’ve enjoyed reviewing my projects on the fly anywhere away from my computer, but after a week of having this app installed my screen on phone phone started to glitch, when using the app I’d tap several times on something and no response, then suddenly all my taps quickly happened and was unstable. Outside of the app my screen would do the same thing, the touch screen would stop working in sections, I would force quit the app and the problems went away until I opened the app again. After upgrading my phone I installed the app again thinking it was just the last phone. After a week on the new phone with the app installed same issues came up. I deleted the app completely and now my phone is acting normal. Not sure what’s happened but it’s sad to not be able to keep the app. It’s great.

Love the idea, but too many issues

My-two-cents? on

This app is exactly what I was ever looking for. Review boards on the go on my iPad. It works ok, but it still seems to be in beta stage. Too many issues. Silkscreen elements look completely different on the app compared to Eagle/Gerber/production. Which makes it useless for review. Multiple inner layer nets are not displayed on a 4-layer board. 3D view is nice, but the part mapping for a comprehensive 3D view is not sufficient. All the boards I work with have “special” parts which are not available for 3D view. Too basic for any professional/serious use. Again, I wish it were what it should be, but for now I would see it as a free teaser. But I paid for it and hope future updates makes it what it should be.

This works really well

I found this app to be a really pleasant surprise. It’s slick, fast, and just works. It makes reviewing eagle board files hundreds of times easier than pdf. This is actually far easier to use for view board data than eagle itself.

App does not open some files at Aurduino.cc

Tried to contact developer to find out how to fix it and they never responded back (been ~ a week now). Took a while but dev did respond because of that have changed to 5!

Views Eagle Files with Ease

Works really well viewing Eagle files. The ability to look at a board file and schematic on the iPad is really useful. Also has a good built in search when looking for parts. I highly recommended this app.
