Customer Feedback:
"The popular Couch to 5K app helps new runners avoid injury from doing too much, too soon."
—Runners World, June 2012

"It's ridiculously easy to use (it's hard not to, as you just do what you're told) and it's fantastic that you have an encouraging voice talking you through things."
—Engadget, June 2012

"Active.com’s Couch to 5K is one of my favorite… apps. With its customizable features, interactivity, and well-rounded interface, I may actually stay off the couch this time."
—148Apps, October 2011

"I knew as soon as I decided to start the Couch to 5K program that I would need something to keep me accountable—not just to showing up for my training, but to actually doing it properly. Of course there’s an app for that."
—CalorieLab, April 2012

"If you have been struggling to get your buns off the couch and somewhat in shape before the summer hits, training for a 5K is not a bad way to start. If you are looking for a program to help get you there, then the “Couch to 5K” running plan by CoolRunning is probably your best bet if you haven’t done an ounce of athletic activity for a number of years."
—Droid Life, April 2012

Note:
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

The Couch to 5K coach you select talks to you during your workouts. To save your battery, Couch to 5K sends audio notifications when your screen is locked or another app is in use.

To be sure you hear the coach during your workout, please do the following:
• Turn on Notifications permissions
• Turn on the hardware ring/silent switch (no red showing)
• Turn your ringer volume up
• Turn off Do Not Disturb (swipe up for Control Panel and the moon button should not be white)
• Within the app, in Settings > Workout Options, be sure the Trainer Volume is up

Without granting notification permissions, during a workout you can click the lock icon at the top left to keep the app active and still hear the coach.

For support please contact us at: [email protected] We would love to hear from you.

Once you purchase the app, it is yours to keep. It does not expire after 9 weeks.

It works

KS7324 on

I’ve never been a runner - walking, cycling were my jams. C25K changed that. I’m about to start week 9 & I’m 5s a km off getting a flat 30m for the 5k, so for me it’s done what it said on the tin. Gripes: The warm up m/cool down periods can’t be updated if you start running early or keep going. Navigation through your daily results is clunky - rather than swiping back/forward you have to come back to the day list & select the day you want.

Glitches

mybeardedpigeon on

Constant glitches- I have the latest iOS and this app skips ahead so it says job then walk straight after each other. Frustrating because it could be really good.

Just starting my 5k journey

dpalmer_88 on

Just started my 5k journey from advice from my friend who recommended me this app. Was just wondering if there is a future plan to have it integrated and sync’d to apple fitness or apple health to keep track and log all activities, once that’s integrated this app will be worth 5 stars!!!

Love it !!

Scruffy.n on

This app got me running 5k plus more ! After time away from running (knee injuries)I was able to jump right back in and it’s helping me again get to when I was . The intervals are ideal to allow me to ease back into running post injury.

Great for beginners and veterans

Sector_6 on

This app was the best $1 I ever spent. It’s perfect for getting up and moving. I mainly do strength workouts for bodybuilding, but I absolutely love working these 3 small cardio sessions into my workout plan. You feel great and it really helps removing that last bit of pesky body fat around your love handles and your mid section. So if your looking to get fit or looking to get some more cardio into that workout schedule I can 100% recommend this app!

Best beginner running app on the market!

Buy it!

Good app but annoying voices

Qwargy on

Would be great if there was a way to turn off the silly, cartoonish coach voices. They are really annoying after a while and interrupt the music or podcast I’m listening to. Why on earth isn’t there a mute button?

Older person having a go! (72+)

Go Granny on

This app is getting me moving. I'm loving it ! The prompts come in easily, so I'm not having to check my time, and my background music of choice helps. I've only completed the first week, but I am ready for next week! Bring it on! I definitely think this app is worthwhile and well presented .

Easy to follow and good tracking of progress

Cyade on

This app is based on the popular couch to 5k program. It has a range of “coaches” to choose from and works really well. My only criticism is it tells you not long now when you still have about a 1/3 of the workout to go. So painful! I only want to hear that in my last 2 minutes. Also note you can get the c25k program for free from the NHS by downloading their podcast. But if you want in app form, this one is good value and tracks your workouts well.

App is okay, but developer doesn’t fix bugs

wontonsoup666 on

App works fine generally, however I reported a bug months ago re the music volume being reduced after the trainer’s halfway message and this has still not be fixed
