Note:
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
The Couch to 5K coach you select talks to you during your workouts. To save your battery, Couch to 5K sends audio notifications when your screen is locked or another app is in use.
To be sure you hear the coach during your workout, please do the following:
• Turn on Notifications permissions
• Turn on the hardware ring/silent switch (no red showing)
• Turn your ringer volume up
• Turn off Do Not Disturb (swipe up for Control Panel and the moon button should not be white)
• Within the app, in Settings > Workout Options, be sure the Trainer Volume is up
Without granting notification permissions, during a workout you can click the lock icon at the top left to keep the app active and still hear the coach.

Fun and effective app for beginners, but needs something more to encourage new habit

I did the whole program over the nice weeks. I’m proud of myself. Now that I’m doing the free runs, I would have like to still hear a coach/avatar let me know if I’m halfway through or when it’s the time to cool down. Do you think it’s possible to update the app so, I can personalize the free runs and have the avatars giving me cues? Otherwise, I’ll have to use another app with timer or Fartlek program. I don’t want to change I like this app. Thanks 😊

Doesn’t work with Apple Watch

I spent about two hours trying to get the app to work with my Apple Watch. No matter what I do it gets stuck at ‘start workout from iPhone app’. Did a bit of googling and it seems I’m not the only one with this problem.

I had expected to start off, not having run into years and being quite out of shape, with something like one minute run four minutes walk. But no. The very very first thing was a 10 minute run. Forget it. Totally unmotivated I quit and returned to the other run 5K app which starts out gently

Really like this app. Even when I have extended layoffs it helps ease me back to running again. For one I gotta continue and do the 10k app!

Great free app for starting, could improve

I really like this app. It did get me off the couch and commit to a gradual running program. The only improvements I could suggest are that 1) add buttons on the home screen to quickly extend your walk or run by 1,3 or 5 minutes so that if you’re having a good run you can push yourself 2) turn off the annoying cheerleaders even when they are muted they still come on halfway and cheer you on and then the music goes down 80% for the remainder of that running time 3) find a way to hit shuffle on a playlist from the Home Screen.

This is a terrific app! Our YMCA closed in town and I had been swimming in the pool. I decided to begin walking then short runs. This app provides conditioning at a rate very beneficial to 1 st time runners.
