Couchsurfing Travel App

In general it’s fine and better than before. However, It doesn’t show new messages automatically, need to always update. Not very convenient. Sometimes locations are incorrect and notifications are late.

i got declined all the time, seems like most of the host are looking for girls to take advantage of them or wtf, why they just declined me?, i just checked some profile and this dude just approved girls wtf

App was good years ago…

I used couchsurfing a year ago a handful of times. Apparently when I purchased the membership it was set to auto renew a year later but I didn’t notice this. I haven’t used this app and not planning to do so in the future. Just received a charge for the yearly membership even though I have no intention of using this app. I informed customer support to see if I could get a refund but they have declined it. With other yearly subscriptions when I got charged by surprise I always got a refund, but not in this case. Seems like their business model consists on charging people without them noticing. Oh, and before charging for the yearly membership maybe it would be helpful to send an email beforehand to customers so they are aware of this and they can make a decision. But I guess their whole business model would go down.

It’s very sad that you have decided to charge to use the app. This doesn’t only mean that travellers don’t sign up, it also means there are lesser hosts and no body in the hangout section. You’ve basically killed yourself and it’s sad to see you die. I will be uninstalling the app today after paying twice.

Not much point anymore with our borders closed to travel, could work for local travel I guess? Just deleted latest version from my phone as Covid19 has killed international travel.

Sometimes the notifications don’t work so well for messages but otherwise the app is great.

The whole concept it’s amazing, but I still have some problems about messages and requests...it doesn’t show them all. Sometimes you get a notification for a hangout or a request, but then you open the app and the message folder it’s empty. Only by using the website you can see them...
