Couchsurfing Travel App

Great app in the initial stage. This is my first review on a paid app. Met an unwanted incident on a surfer and that person turned the table around and falsely reported. Still pending and apparently investigation took long. Asked around and realised that many great host faces same situation whereby asking guest to leave after one night faces same situation.

I signed up with an annual membership and was quickly prompted to verify my profile through a credit card. Throughout the process there was no mention of an extra cost for the verification. Only after I entered my credit card details I received a receipt that I was charged $86!!!! Usually verification through credit card work by making a test transaction that is later refunded. These $86 won’t be refunded as the customer support team have explained to me. This is a scam!

Can you fix this?

Paid the fee, still unable to access. Send to support team but no reply! Crap!

Given opportunity to meet and know, peoples from across the world and knowing their life stories. Certainly after this app never felt lonely as always found some guest at my place to accompany.

Many of the accounts are dead or inactive for years. If I’d known that I probably wouldn’t have taken up the offer to pay for membership
