Couchsurfing Travel App

It’s a great app but unfortunately it lost a lot of it’s users after changing to subscription based plan. Not gonna renew my plan since the community is not that strong anymore.

Been a member since 2006, it’s the best! App could be a bit more user friendly, but it’s good enough

I need to pay 65$ (once in a lifetime) to verify the account over Paypal or credit card, on PayPal I also need to verify it's me by my telephone number which I use at home not when I travel. So even if I wanted to pay 65$ to verify myself I couldn't. Then I already paid $ 3 to be able to see if I like the app.

Good and Easy to use,

The concept is incredible. The app not so much. I can’t verify my email nor change it so now I have spent the money and my account is useless since you can’t use it without validating the email. I am still waiting for support.

So the app has a paywall (subscription). Then they charge you to verify your identity. I’ve been part of the community for 14 years by now, until today that they suspended my account after having organized several events in my city just because the event I was promoting required a ticket (and not from me, from the venue). Also all communications services are extremely buggy and work terrible. Users that have been reported for being abusive, alcoholic, and criminals are still active,… ah, but post a whatsapp group link so people can keep in contact and your account is suspended. CS is seriously dead.

They demand money before you can log in and see that. Wasted €3.

Easy to use, convenient. What else can you ask for?

They say you should never ask for money, but they themselves put a paywall before even you can see what’s going inside this app. Very good logic. Money is bad for people, but for the app’s company is good.

Why do i need to pay for app i don’t even see what inside it 🤣
