I've been a member since early days. I even have a Pioneer badge. CS has gone through a lot of struggles and challenges. I'm glad the community is still alive. We need more personal global connections now than any other time I think.

Abuse in charging monthly/annual fees

This platform was free for everyone before pandemic, amd when the pandemic came they said if we couldn't pay tge couchsurfing app could end. Lies!!!! They are charging so far and increasing the fees every year. So frustrating the way how this app is proceeding. I don't recommend it!

One of my best app for meeting people while travel

Amazing app, never disappoint me to find and meet new people while travel new place.

You just pay and get no support back

I have had this app for a few years. Most of the time are good experiences but had a few that were not. Every time I reported it I had no reply. Also, I’ve had some issues with the app, again no one responds. Also I’ve met a few people that had to create new profiles and pay another membership as they can’t retrieve their previous account - Couchsurfing staff don’t respond. So, this is cool but keep yourself safe!

Sneakily stealing my money

You’re so sneaky, there was no choice to choose a one time payment so once I’ve been charged again and again I had to go and dig your bloody settings in order to find how to stop subscription the subscription I didn’t intend to have. I hate you and Apple for this. Disgusting twits.

Account suspended without any reason!

I have been using Couchsurfing app for more than 7 years. I was expecting a visitor and confirmed their stay. Suddenly couchsurfing suspended my account without any reason. I have been using the app for more than 7 years and I have never done anything wrong and I have never received any negative feedback. My guest had to stay outside and couldn’t contact me because of what Couchsurfing did. When I contacted to support, they only say that the account deactivated and we can’t tell you why because of the privacy. Actually you have to tell people the reason. If you can’t tell the reason it means you don’t have any reason to tell and you are suspending accounts without any reason and that’s not right. You are doing wrong.

Worst app, stole my money. Don’t come in their trap. It’s a scam.

Forcing subscriptions

I been using this app since 2017 and had met nice people from all around the world. What frustrates me now is after updating my home address, it’s asking me to pay for subscription if not to logout. It’s a shame after using this app for so long, now I have to uninstall it. I don’t see the point of insisting the existing users to subscribe even after using it for years. Shame

Great if a bit glitchy

Generally good to use but sometimes it’s a little difficult to navigate and takes a while to show new messages. I’m a little confused as to why I’m being asked to review hosts I’ve not stayed with (i.e. I never accepted their offer). You should only be asked this if you confirmed a stay with a host.

Scammers

Be very careful with this scammers! It comes up to say VERIFY with applepay once you select that it will charge you £51 and there is no way to get it back as they stopped replying to my emails as soon as I said that I want a full refund as its a false advertisement! I will report it to Apple Store too!
