I have phone phone’s volume settings set at the maximum volume for rings and alerts. Perhaps there is a way to make the sound louder but if so I haven’t figured it out. Perhaps my hearing is not as good as it once was, but it isn’t terribly impaired. Seems to me that the signal for the end of the alarm needs to designed with some view of the fact that people have differing hearing abilities. Also, if the sound were longer it might have a much better chance of getting my attention even if not very loud. These are little blips that can be easily missed by me when I’m across the room OR simply engrossed in something I am doing.
