Coursera Reviews

Unstable

dmitriy.dokshin on

Singapore

Downloaded content actually is not available offline. Loading is sometimes slow or doesn’t work with unstable connection.

Platform great, app average

Solo59 on

Singapore

I l have difficulty to work offline. Download often not completed even I have the background refresh option on. Annoying thing: by default script always displayed, each time i open i have to click full screen to get rid of it. Also some display problem sometimes. Else the platform is great. Better to use a browser than the app.

Assignments don’t function well on iPad

mengondeh on

Singapore

I’m still able to watch videos and do quizzes, but my assignments become wonky on iPad. Classmates have received my submission with the text entirely corrupted. I’m also unable to review others’ work.

I'm a new user for Couresa. Just puzzle why there isn’t any bookmark tab for browsing course before we enroll.

Tight, focused, balanced, informative

Johnnie Boy57 on

Singapore

In covering a highly charged, provocative and emotional subject like conspiracy, there is a temptation to slip into diatribe and demonization. The professor masterly navigated through these dark waters and did an outstanding job of highlighting critical trends and developments. The reading list is brilliant. as a former student and lifelong friend of professor David Kennedy, I was gratified to see an endorsement. I look forward to reading the books the professor recommended. He has opened up up Pandora’s box for me. And the subject has a lot of relevance given the role of conspiracies in recent US elections.

Fix the compatibility with Iphone, is a piece of trash

Poor peer-reviewed grading system and inaccessible customer service

H2o.watermelon on

Singapore

Pros: informative course materials with a large variety of options and prestigious institutions. Cons: 1. The peer-reviewed system is a pitfall. I was there to seriously learn and earn a certificate. However, at compulsory weekly discussions and even final assignment review portals, I came across really low-quality and zero-effort posts. Coursera should find a way to disqualify these users, otherwise they will just taint the credibility of the course and the certificate since peer-review has become a joke. 2. Takes ages to get a peer review in order to get a grade and eventually a certificate. 3. Zero opportunity to interact with the instructors. Some of them left a post in the discussion forum years ago. 4. Where is the “live chat”? If you charge the user $49 USD a month, at least provide some live customer support, right?
