Great looking recipe manager with minor annoyances
There’s a lot to like about Crouton, like the colorcoded parts of recipes and option to see the steps one by one. The import works decently too. On iPad however, the method and ingredient list could easily be next to each other by default. Even on iPad Mini. The conversion from others to metric could be a bit better. At least in Finland we don’t use cups as a measurement, but we do use tablespoons and teaspoons. Also custom options or possibility to add custom abbreviations for the measurements would be nice. Like having ”pkt” instead of ”packet” or ”rkl” instead of ”Tbsp”. The groceries list is maybe a bit too simplified. Finnish translation would be nice too. And option to link a certain ingridient to certain word in the method part, so that it wouldn’t be necessary to have exact same wording on both places
And the fact that you can hide Discover and Meal Plan if you want to is great.

Holy smokes – this app rocks
The import does not work in Finnish language, but adding your receipes manually gets you to great experience.
Please add Finnish language as soon as possible.
Less is more!
A great recipe app with a lot of useful features like automatic unit detection, import wizard, meal planning, and family sync.
Very good UI that’s intuitive use.
The best recipe app there is.
If an app offers a lifetime subscription, I know it’s an app that I want to support. The performance is great and the features are priceless!
What can’t it do…..
This app does it all. Many ways to add recipes. Five Thumbs up
Good but a little buggy
It’s a good app but sometimes buggy and it doesn’t sync the grocery list with family sharing. The one other feature it needs is in the grocery section, when you put a checkmark ✅ by an item, it should move that item to the bottom so it’s out of the way. There’s an app called Grocery that does this and it would make this app much more useful. I hope that these features get worked out/added soon.
Nearly the ultimate recipe app
This application is the one you’ve been looking for most likely.
I’ve tried lots of different ones on the iOS platform and they all had pretty glaring shortcomings but this one nearly has it all and is so polished that I’m willing to look past it’s main issue.
The nutrition field in a recipe is my only complaint, I wish I could input the macros for the dish (Calories, Protein, Fat, and Carbs) and it would dynamically show how much a serving would be.
Currently the nutrition field is the same thing as writing a note, so if your making a smaller portion you have to do manual math each time.
Other than that I love how you can tag meals, either with kitchen tools needed (Air Fryer, Electric Mixer etc) or if they are vegetarian, high protein etc. The organization is lovely too.
If it wasn’t for the nutrition field feeling like an after thought it would be 5 stars to me.
Great Idea but lacks free features
I wish the Discover features were cheaper or at least just let me import by image for free and keep the price the same
