Cubasis 3 in its latest versions has become very good. A nice, useful feature set has always been there, but somewhat hampered by various bugs and a pervasive lack of "smootheness" - both UI-wise and in actual recording and playback audio. All that is gone now. Cubasis 3 is solid and the user experience is excellent, imo. It is my go to tool for sound creation now, I really like it. Using an iPad Air 3.
The stretch function isn’t working properly. When you copy/paste a two bar beat it goes off the metronome count over the next couple of bars and just gets worse and worse. That makes it very hard to get creative in any way and put this app to good use. I must say that I regret getting this now. In its current state I don’t think it’s worth the money.
I love Cubasis, but as a former Cubase Fanatic, and thus the opertunity to insert empty space for the purpose of rearranging a track, I would give the Full Monty to have this feature incorporated in the near future. Update April 20th Hi Lars. I'm very unorganized, and always start up with a lot (and too many) 4 bar pieces, and to them around is very stressfull. So in the short run, I guess I'll just have to get more organized. Keep up the good work :-)
This app has a lot of nice features that could make it a great DAW, almost like its older sibling Cubase. BUT, no tempo map and no way to change time signatures after the initial time signature. And they call this a MIDI DAW! Incredibly, unbelievably, stupid design decision.
Very intuitive to work with.
The IOS version 13.6 on iPad (and the previous version) do not work well with Cubasis. Before previous version was installed, Cubasis worked fine. Now it goes very slow - it takes minutes to load a project with many tracks. As it is working now I will not recommend the software to anyone (I would have done that earlier and would also have given it 5 stars). I hope it will be fixed soon, so it works with recent versions of iOS.
I love how I can sketch an idea on my phone or iPad and easily transfer my idea to my home computer and fully develop it on Cubase.
With the latest update this is a complete full fledged DAW and you can BUY it for the price that some others charge to rent for a month! Record and edit audio Record and edit MIDI Mix and add effects Master! It comes with a plethora of instruments and you can get more (really low prices) in the in app shop They update it consistently Easy to use and there are ton of tutorials online I don’t need a computer to record anymore! I can a carry a recording studio with me!
With Cubasis 3.7 iOS, iPhone, and iPad have the best DAW there is. Sound wise it has everything you could ask for, from instruments to drums to synths with HALion, Neo FM, FM Classics, and now Iconica Sketch. Time signature and tempo tracks have made this on par with Logic. The user interface is the best in the business, the UI is beautiful, and the UX is seamless. With the upcoming updates, I hope to see Groove Agent and PDC (plugin delay compensation), but as it stands, Cubasis is now the king of iOS DAWs. Keep it up Steinberg, you have a dedicated customer for life.
