Current is an RSS reader built on a simple idea: your feed should never make you feel behind.

There are no unread counts. No red badges. No number climbing while you sleep, silently tallying everything you haven't read. Current shows you what's new right now, and that's it. Nothing is owed. Nothing is overdue. You open it when you want to read, and whatever's there is what's there.

The design is intentional. Every screen, every interaction, every animation was built to feel calm and unhurried. Articles are presented beautifully with clean typography and generous whitespace. Navigation is fluid and intuitive. The app gets out of the way and lets you focus on what matters: the writing.

### **--- "Underwhelmed"
Was excited after reading the app’s pitch—it seemed to solve a real problem. Sadly the implementation falls flat.

The primary problem is sync. It uses iCloud, which means that *it does not sync*, because Apple is incompetent and iCloud is garbage.

To solve this I created an account with one of the supported alternatives: The Old Reader. But after creating an account, I could not sign in: “session expired - please sign in again”. It’s unclear how a session expired before even starting.

Finally, the developer says that the Mac & iPad apps are thoughtfully adapted to those platforms, which is totally not the case. The view is just stretched to fit and feels very clunky.

I remain optimistic about the app, but until the sync is fixed, it does the opposite of what is claimed: it creates a huge amount of work managing your out-of-sync feeds.
