We expect users to already know piano tuning basics and have their own tuning equipment. What makes Reyburn CyberTuner for iOS (or "iRCT") superior to other tuning software? Ease of use. Clarity of functions. Intuitive and thoughtful design and programming by a Registered Piano Technician (RPT) member of the PTG with years of concert tuning and prep experience as well as "in the trenches" home tunings and repairs. Built on the collective knowledge of scores of RPTs. Flexibility to tune the way you want with unbelievable accuracy. Support by the creator, by either personal email (international) or toll-free phone (in the US & Canada) for registered users. Email listserv support is free for registered CyberTuner users. • Concert Tune mode combines the best of Fine Tune and Smart Tune, customized for 7 foot (210cm) and 9 foot (275cm) concert instruments. • Aural Tutor expert system analyzes your aural tuning and suggests intervals and check notes for improving your aural skills. • Extraordinarily accurate and fast pitch correction with iRCT's Smart Tune and Pitch Raise modes. It enables my Tenitus bound hearing - a ring like the sustaining C8, to be guided to accurate representations of any pleasing tuning stretch possible. I was taught using this by very astute teachers. I benefitted from that, but this software allows what if I had to ghost every partial it would be really reckless and overly long. Takes too long to sample notes compared to other tuning apps. Automatic note switching is only for adjacent notes. Very overpriced app for older technology. Indicator blushing occurs over a wide range of pitch, not as precise as other apps. Have to clean up break by ear or use the time consuming AI mode which sometimes doesn’t always do a good job compared to other apps. If you don’t have strong aural tuning skills you’d be better suited with another app that doesn’t require as much clean up of the tuning. Pitch raising is only based on nearby sample notes. It doesn’t take in account what is coming after, only the notes that have come before. Piano tuning is tedious enough ☺️ iRCT is a remarkable product in so many ways, and I sure don't miss the old Pocket PC/Pocket RCT, or Sanderson Accutuner, for that matter. But the CyberCare subscription for $80 every year may be debatable, especially given the $1,000 original purchase price and the limited number of updates and feature additions.
