Bravo ! -- sebascout, 2020-10-29 ### ****- "Great app features and policy, but find interface lacking" I really want to like this app. The iCloud syncing, iPad version, privacy-respecting data handling, CSV export, and other financial management features are all great. The app also has a visually appealing GUI. It has a lot to recommend it in my opinion. However, I find the GUI and financial graphing styles lacklustre and ultimately unhelpful in building a clear visual intuition of my finances. I feel like I have to squint at the bar charts to understand their meaning, and the home page “stacked bricks” aren’t very visually intuitive, at least to me. I value getting an “at a glance” visual overview of my accounts, and this app’s current approach leaves me feeling like I can’t get that intuition very well from its’ charts. As alternate examples, I like the curve line from “Budget Burndown”, or the “Buddy” budgeting app’s per-icon pie graphs. I also like “Subtotal”’s use of a magnitude-over-time graph for showing balances over time. In general, a greater use of pie charts, magnitude curves over time, and similar graphs that give a sense of visual proportion (e.g spending vs. max allocated budget) would go a long way towards improving my experience. Thanks to the developer for their work.
