The best dark mode extension and it’s free. Yes, not all apps deserve a monthly purchase. This applies especially to the paid dark-mode apps. This does it right. Fast, easy, free.

Works well most of the time

I bought this app and use it on iOS and MacOS. It does its job well most of the time. But there are some websites which are immune to its magics and retain their original theme unaffected. The most annoying issue with the app it that it keeps dark mode during the day allegedly based on the OS setting of dark mode, when it is not true. It requires Safari to be restarted to realize it is not night time anymore and so disengage. The opposite is not frequent nor does happen at all. This happens both on iOS and macOS. When it works, it results in a dark mode as you’d expect with the option to reduce images brightness and easily create a list of exceptions for those websites you don’t want it to modify. Here too, it sometimes is inconsistent, as it does not recognize subdomains on certain website and you might find yourself forcing your settings when browsing various sections or pages in a top domain due to inconsistent results. Finally, it would be nice to be able to pick from a variety of dark themes. Sometimes I feel it is too dark or that we could spice things a bit with a different color pallet. Hopefully it will evolve to become better on the above mentioned issues. Anyway, the price is very fair, allowing family and cross device share (thank you!), and despite the pointed flaws I continue using it, as it does not totally detract from the general purpose of being gentle to our eyes when browsing at night.

Very straight forward install and does exactly as described. Due note it is a dark gray and not pure black but idc, better than bright whites! lol for $0.99 it was totally a deal. Also doesn’t collect data usage so that’s good. Go ahead and snatch this up. Good job Dev 🤘🏻

Not working in some website with left Nav bar.

Useless extension, worst than those free ones. Save your money, don’t buy it.

BEST ONE YET

Used to use dark reader. Many websites would still be white. After downloading this all those websites are now dark mode! I see it gets updated regularly as well so thats a plus!

Best Night Mode App

This app is truthful to it’s word and can be applied to safari in fast easy steps. It actually does turn the screen dark in tabs without any distortion, very useful for staying up 👍

Why does it need to read, alter and view all history?

I don’t get why this is necessary.. I will change rating later as I haven’t used it yet

Option to disable extension for PDF documents would be welcome

The extension works good overall, but a fix/change to allow users to enable/disable extension for certain file types opened in Safari (most often PDF documents) would be welcome
