Peakhunter (peakhunter.com) ist das erste Globale Digitale Gipfelbuch.
Die Peakhunter App lässt dich nur vor Ort einen Eintrag ins Gipfelbuch machen. Sie liefert den Beweis mittels GPS und Zeitstempel. 
Schreibe über deine Erfahrung und lasse andere wissen wie die Verhältnisse waren, mache Fotos, und teile den Eintrag mit facebook.
Führe zuverlässig Buch über deine Gipfelerfolge.

Die App funktioniert OHNE Netzabdeckung! Peakhunter braucht nur GPS um deine exakte Position zu ermitteln.
Du kannst alle Gipfeldaten für ein Land auf dein Smartphone laden, damit sie auch ohne Internet verfügbar sind (offline).

Wir haben über 300'000 Gipfel in unserer Datenbank.
Trotzdem: Es gibt (noch) keine zentrale Quelle für akkurate Positionen aller Gipfel der Erde.
Wir wollen das ändern, indem wir GPS Daten von unseren Gipfeljägern sammeln.
Hilf uns, die umfangreichste Datenbank über Gipfel zu erstellen!

Wenn du einen Gipfel findest, den wir nicht erfasst haben oder einen, der an der falschen Position ist, erstelle einen neuen.

Meiner Meinung nach ist die App gut und brauchbar, aber wird zu wenig durch Alpinisten verwendet da der nutzen nicht deutlich erkennbar ist.
Wenn mann einen Berg bestiegen hat, wäre es toll wen mann die Verhältnis am Berg  schnell und einfach beurteilen kann. Das Bergsteiger die Informationen zu den Verhältnissen sehen können das wäre nützlicher als Trophäen sammeln!
Infos zu: Firnauflage, Schnee, Gefahren, etc.

Habe diesen App noch nicht lange.
Habe auch erst eine kleine Runde damit gemacht.
Habe aber bereits ein anliegen.
Für die Planung und eingabe der Wanderungen. Ist es einfacher an einem PC oder iPad die Wanderungen zu Planen.
Deshalb würde ich es begrüssen wenn der App auch auf dem iPad vollumfänglich funktionieren würde.

Benutze App & Homepage nun schon länger (300+ Gipfel). Habe aufgrund der Einträge & Fotos anderer viele neue Ideen bekommen. Dank der Challenges bin ich auch in andere Gebiete der Schweiz gekommen, welche ich sonst nicht so intensiv be- und erwandert hätte. Dass ich dabei auch noch was gewinnen konnte ist die Krönung des Ganzen. Mittlerweile wird die App auch im Ausland eingesetzt - da auch der einzige Kritikpunkt - anders als online waren offline trotz aktuellem Download nicht alle Gipfel vorhanden. Insgesamt jedoch top App mit ausgereiften Funktionen. Danke !!
